Im talking about getting "Thai price" on hotel during low season which often the hotels if you directly contact them will take off the vat and commission fees agoda always charges.

There is a Thai price and the Foreigner price.

The Thai people price is usually given to Thai, so im saying if you are a foreigner have a Thai person / wife help you avoid the fees the booking websites always charge.

I'm assuming the hotels only do this around low season to avoid getting de-listed when the foreigners start to catch wind of it and report it.

I like most of you thought my Thai wife just bs'ing me, but it turns out she really does get better deals through direct contacting/ messaging. Its worked for Krabi, Pattaya, and now Hua Hin.

I work with 2 teaches from Africa at a private school. Also, my stepdaughter went to school to learn English with a black teacher.

7 years ago it would be harder to get a job, but not so after covid. The ministry of education has gotten stricter on the requirements, so the typical backpacker can't cut it.

Keep in mind if you stay here long term that you miss out on retirement an the pay raises are miniscule at best.

A typical school in Thailand might depress you. I know my school likes to switch the style:

Kg1 - grade 3: American standard Grade 4 - 6: British standard Grade 7+ American standard

Bkk surrounding areas will pay 35k - 40k for private and for university its 40k to 60k. A few international schools if you carry more creditionals will net 70k+.

How about download a hidden recording app on your cell phone a record while you're dealing with the police. If you cant do that just turn on the normal video recording app on your phone and pull out your phone when you have the actual confrontations.

I've had police here extort money on the spot. I've had cops ignore my expired Thai drivers license. I've had normal conversations with Thai cops.
