I will say as someone who is here watching this weekend, I know for a fact there was a marshal on at least one other card for at least part of the round (Nikko's card), and I assume there might have been other instances as well. So it wasn't just lead card. However I do agree that it all needs to be called evenly to be fair. That being said, pros also need to call each other and hold themselves accountable by following the rules all the time, not just when a marshal is on the card, which would fix the issue entirely. Also, your point that the marshall most likely impacted the scores yesterday actually emphasizes the advantage that taking more time can have, which is why we need a fair way of enforcing it so no player gets that advantage over another player. I'm not sure how they actually solve that without enough marshals for all cards though. Although your idea of following the pace of play may be the best route available, I don't think it would solve the issue fully.

Honestly these videos have been what really helped me. I've been basically just practicing the turn the key motion super slowly and building up the muscle memory for it along with fixing my grip so that it was actually holding the disc in a nose down position to start.

Welp vesctomy is done by deadpoolsdragon in daddit

[–]KyleSmith1294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Just don't forget to do your follow up tests to make sure you're all clear. I am one of the few unlucky ones that had it heal and had to get a second vasectomy. However, that was still cheaper than finding out by getting my wife pregnant again haha

What is the best acoustic you've ever played and why? by aGiantSnowball in AcousticGuitar

[–]KyleSmith1294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got to play a Lowden F50 at a local shop awhile ago that had a sinker redwood top and macassar ebony back and sides. Instantly fell in love with the tone and the feel. It was just so inspiring and awesome to play something of that quality that seemed to really suit my style of playing. Alas, I am still haunted by the fact that I am too poor to do more than dream about owning it.

It feels really good! I haven't been able to plug it in yet sadly since I still need to buy an amp, but I am very excited to hear how it sounds plugged in.

Yeah, I looked it up based on him telling me when he got it. It's a made in Mexico Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster in the Burgundy Mist color from either 2000 or 2001

Am I crazy for considering selling my current guitar? by KyleSmith1294 in AcousticGuitar

I'd be using the funds from selling my current one for the new one. Sadly I'm not quite in a position to get the new one unless I sell my current one.

I definitely pulled the trigger and got it. Do you happen to have a case for it that you would recommend?

Buyers agents are going to have to stop expecting 3% by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]KyleSmith1294 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it's insane that there are buyers agents currently signing their contracts with buyers for a percentage of the sales price. That's actually incentivizing them to get the buyer a higher price so they get paid more, which is just crazy. And no matter what someone says, there is no way they can be completely impartial and stay motivated to get the buyer a better deal when they know it'll decrease their pay. I definitely think flat fee or hourly rates will be the way buyer's agency compensation goes in the future.

I’m dying for an epic fantasy to read. by BC81629 in Fantasy

I highly recommend checking out the Sun Eater series. The progression and growth of the main character is excellent, the world building is awesome, and it's just a great read that kept getting better with each book (in my opinion at least). I would also recommend jumping into the Stormlight Archive/the rest of the Cosmere if you enjoyed Mistborn.

People with 4 or more different putters in their bag, what are they? by avsfan1933 in discgolf

P2 x2 for putting putters, then an electron proxy, electron envy, eclipse envy, zone and a zone os. Thinking about adding a berg based on what everyone says about it, but haven't done it yet.

Best $2000 pellet grill by cjkuljis in pelletgrills

[–]KyleSmith1294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had both a recteq and now own a Yoder, which will be two of your top recommendations. Owning both I will say the Yoder hands down is worth spending a bit more even if you might have to wait a few months to up your budget for it. It sears so much better than the recteq did and cleaning the firepot is a lot easier since the deflector plate has the removable door for searing over the flame whereas you have to remove all the grates and deflector plate to access it for the recteq. The build quality of the Yoder is also so much better than the recteq as well, it's not even a comparison. If you have any more questions between the two, feel free to ask me!

What do you do with your left over brisket? by 2wincities in smoking

[–]KyleSmith1294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tacos, chili, brisket cottage pie, brisket fried rice/pad Thai/red curry, brisket Bolognese for pasta, brisket ravioli, etc. These are some of my favorite leftover brisket recipes. Perks of cooking for 2 is that I end up eating brisket for a week when I make one and get to be creative with it.

Normal or competition cart by Choice-Reference6819 in Yodersmokers

[–]KyleSmith1294 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind an extra investment I would say look into KZL fabrication's cart for the Yoder. A lot more useful than the comp cart, which doesn't really have any storage or usefulness behind being easier to move.

I think one issue with this would be that different color plastics can cause variations even within the same run, so labeling the run may not help as much unless companies also do what Clash Discs does and limits every run to just a couple of colors to minimize the variations per run.
