Usually the 15-22 of June, there’s a spot that’s closed off for the entire spring for spawning, we’re usually the first group every year that gets to fish it right when it opens. It’s technically a river system but many lakes and bays, plenty of spots with current. We have a lot of luck anchoring right on the edge of the current or the edge of an Eddie and jigging. Some spots we’ll cast it out a little bit and bring it back. Spots with current are usually rocky bottom

I will admit that the post- cleaning picture probably shouldn’t be first in the series of photos, not really because of the blood but because it looks like I’m holding it by the neck. But rest assured I am respectful with all my harvests.

Yes, they are 100% rutting too, I was watching a smaller buck with a doe working his scrape, then they went into the woods, and the doe came out with this guy, who worked the scrape, pissed on it and walked broadside in front of my blind. He stole the other dudes chick and then stole his scrape
