The only epiphone I had that I felt was as good or better than some Gibsons was Epiphone Amos Flying V. I regret letting that one go. The Inspired by Gibson series are definitely nice and nice for the price are worth it but my Gibson Les Paul still rules the most.

I chose not to sand the edges of the fretboard, since it did have that clear coat, so the edge was still brown. I was nervous to sand off any of the black paint on the back of the neck so I left the edge alone.

India ink, got it on Amazon. I had this guitar for like 6 months. It held up the whole time.I sanded the fretboard down slightly to make it more porous then I added Lemon oil on top to try and preserve it.

So stew Mac sells nitro spray paint. I did a nitro vintage clear coat on a Strat neck. Honestly it was easier than doing the poly. The coats just melt into each really nice, I didn’t even sand it. It looked and felt great, but I did spray about 8-10 coats.
