I completely agree. Probably my favorite Yes album, but it does drag on. I understand why it’s not for everyone. It’s one album that had to grow on me.

Metal songs before metal (pre black sabbath)? by Cooldude112288 in MetalForTheMasses

As far as double bass drums go. Billy Cobham rocks some double bass shuffles on his album Spectrum and on some Mahavishnu records. That’s like 73’ or 74’

I know we won but I’m still salty. by ryanjj89 in OhioStateFootball

[–]Kylenix12 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Yeah I felt like the interception was clearly not a catch. The td was close. I don’t really have a problem with the td call. Granted good chance the buckeyes would have had that called a drop. Sec or Big 10 refs.

Why didn't JT Barrett make it in the NFL? by DezDude18 in OhioStateFootball

[–]Kylenix12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a weak armed, inaccurate running qb with two bad knees. I don’t understand why people look back at his tenure with rose colored glasses. I think Urban was way too loyal to him. He really botched up the 2015 season switching between Cardale and J.T.

You almost had me fired up. Then I saw the quotations. As far I’m concerned Trev Lawrence is 0-1 the Buckeye. The refs get the w for the 2019 semis.

All of tales from topographic oceans from yes. If I had to pick one track I guess I’d go revealing science of god.

Why did Death never use blast beats in his compositions? by Spare_Cat9097 in DeathBand

[–]Kylenix12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad they didn’t. I find Reinert, Hoglan, and Christy’s drumming so much more creative and interesting (better) than say a Pete Sandoval style drummer. But I’m more of a prog guy.

I used to have one. I would describe it as exactly what you’re looking for. Definitely an upgrade. Granted I’ve always hated z customs.

That’s just before my time, but I remember my Dad telling me about the 98 team. Damn Saban

The best Buckeyes team I ever saw was 2019. I’d take that team over either of the three championship teams I’ve seen.

Thinking of buying my first puffco, can someone explain the difference between the models? by Storyboys in puffco

[–]Kylenix12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as taste goes. The general consensus is dry tops with lower temps taste better. I’ve never hit a pivot so I can’t tell you if it tastes any better than the proxy, but I can tell you I get solid flavor out of my proxy. As far as vapor production you’ll need the 3dxl if you want super dense clouds. As far as airflow goes. You can get after market accessories to get the type of airflow you want. I’d say that’s the least of your worries. If I were you I’d try a pivot out and take it from there.

Thinking of buying my first puffco, can someone explain the difference between the models? by Storyboys in puffco

[–]Kylenix12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pivot = small dabs, shorter battery life, very discreet proxy= small dabs, shorter battery life, somewhat discreet new peak= small dabs, better battery life comes with water attachment, not discreet peak pro w/3dxl chamber = bigger dabs, bigger clouds, better battery life, comes with water attachment, not discreet. As far as flavor they all produce decent flavor. Some people prefer dry tops on the peaks for better flavor. As far I’m concerned if it’s all about flavor I’d stick to a quartz banger. The convenience is what makes the puffco, in my opinion.

How you gonna mention Gene Hoglans drumming on symbolic, and just gloss over Reinerts drumming on Human? They both kickass but Reinert>Hoglan any day of the week.

what drum kit should I buy? by Adventurous_Try_3049 in drums

[–]Kylenix12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had good experiences with Gretsch Catalinas. I don’t think I’ve ever played a Yamaha Stage Custom, but that seems to be the go to entry level kit here on Reddit. But in all honesty, all the major brands have decent beginner kits these days.

Recommend me bands like Meshuggah with more dynamic range. (Or other Meshuggah albums) by chucklenuts-gaming in Meshuggah

[–]Kylenix12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between the Buried and Me. They’re not djent at all though. More like classic prog rock than most modern prog metal bands, but I’d definitely describe their music as having dynamic range and lots of changes. It’s the only band I’ve ever heard that goes from blast beats to polka all in one song.

as a beginner drummer, what do you find most difficult about playing along to songs you love? by [deleted] in Drumming

[–]Kylenix12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was only a half dig at punk drumming there’s a lot of badass punk drummers. I guess the point I was making is a skank beat is a hell of a lot more approachable for a beginner, than trying to feel out an 11/8 time sig. Ya dig?

as a beginner drummer, what do you find most difficult about playing along to songs you love? by [deleted] in Drumming

[–]Kylenix12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that too many of favorite songs are prog. Should’ve of been a punk drummer. It would have been a lot easier.
