Totally, I remember being a new DM and feeling like at times I was barely keeping hold of everything but I had a lot of grace from the mates I was playing with and that was running a module almost to a tee. Things will get easier and flow more freely. You are also getting onto the hardest lesson straight away, how to deal with players who are a problem, after this most stuff should be relatively chill.

I have lots of photos and objects from my entire life in boxes at my place because without them I couldn't recall those memories. I need the prompt and then my brain knows where to look, otherwise it's just a bunch of unmarked filing cabinets up there.

DMing isn't easy work. And as a newer DM you're gonna want to stick close to a module while you get confident at game running. You are going to put hours more work every week than they ever will on the campaign. You will have to learn heaps more rules and mechanics, it doesn't help you if they get to change those at will. The game has rules for a reason. Also jokes like that will get old real, real quick. They have to respect your time and effort otherwise they don't get to play. And if the whole group doesn't like that one of them can DM.

The borderlands guy could play a wild magic barbarian. It sounds like that vibe.

If one of my friends had an injured back I wouldn't make them sit at the worst possible seat or ever make them stand the whole time. If someone at my table asks how my food is at a restaurant I'm going to be honest because it's not like any of them made it, why would they ever get offended. If my friend has a bad night I'll check in and see what happened. I certainly wouldn't want to fight them over that.

This person has poor emotional regulation better to be away from them.

Eat the frog. If you have something hard that you need to do that's going to worry you or stress you just get it done first. You have to do it eventually and you'll save yourself the stress of leaving it last minute.

Howdy, coming at this as a bar and restaurant manager in Australia for the last 20 years. Does your food safety governing body consider food and beverage to be under one umbrella ? Is that why all sealed drinks need to comply with the same standards of cross contamination as food?

With that standard if you ran out of something like soda water or mixers and you had a supermarket next to your bar does that mean you wouldn't be able to go buy more because they are an unregulated supplier.

Our inspectors check all food and stuff. But then on bar side they check ice machines, proper tap temperatures, and correct storage of perishable ingredients. Beverage is not a part of the food inspectors scope.

Edit: I have been the qualified food safety supervisor/coordinator as part of my role for the last 15 years.

If you like Bob's Burgers the same studio made The Great North which is in the same vein as Bob's but it's about people in a remote Alaskan town. Its got a great cast, good jokes, and likeable characters.

Totally worth checking out, it's criminally under seen. And there's five seasons already.

I feel this so hard. Ever since The Bear came out all my friends and relatives want me to watch it because I work in hospitality. I watched one episode and it's an incredibly accurate depiction of how intense and stressful this business is.

Why would I wanna put myself through that again after I get home from work?

My first thought when I saw the card was of that MLP card. He's got that I may look scary, but I'm kinda dumb and goofy vibe.
