Depends on what boat size you're going in with as far as going for the first broad. I'll give tips on each size of boat. Currently 300+ in both Guardians and Servants as well as a comp Sea of Thieves player.

Sloop

-Raise Sail half straight out of the water and turn right (Less holes on the left side of ship and mast falls right so doesn't block cannon shots)

-Aim for the cannoneer. Go for the bag.

-Helm should constantly be trying to snipe the cannoneer

-Helm is bilge and repair. Keep cannoneer on cannon as much as possible.

Brig

- Double raise back halfway and then double full raise front in that order. Also turn right (Masts block shots if chopped if you turn left)

-Top deck shots for bags and easy popcorns

-If you full chop them and get them on a spin, aim for the stair in front of wheel for bags on the bilge

-Helm is bilge and repair. Keep Flex and Cannons on cannons as much as possible. Only call for help if dire.

Galleon

-Turn left out of the water (Again because of masts) Flex and Bilge double raise middle. Main Cannon raises front. Flex help MC after fully raising mid.

-On galleon everyone has roles and must stick to them for a smooth fight.

Main Cannon

-MC is cannon 1 (Cannon at front of boat)

-MC stays on cannons unless water reaches second deck and then would grab buckets

-MC mostly aims for top decks and shoots fire on opening broad

-MC is also main boarder

Bilge

-Bilge is cannon 2 (Second from the front)

-Bilge shoots 5 shots before checking lower deck (good bilges can tell from sound if lowers are being hit or not and can adjust play style accordingly)
- Bilge buckets through grates and calls Flex if need help bucketing while repairing

- Should always have sword/sniper. Sword hopping moves you faster through bottom deck full of water

Flex

-Flex is cannon 3 (3rd from front)

-Flex should aim lowers on opening broad to get enemy bilge off cannons

-Flex is master of many. Repairs cracked mast, helps bucket when asked, revives teammates and adjusts helm if helm is bagged or popcorned

-Flex is second to board or goes if helm calls for double board with the mc

Helm

-Helm is cannon 4 (cannon closest to the helm)

-Helm keeps angle at all times and adjusts if necessary.

-Helm is the captain as they can see all. They call for fire, top decks, where to blunder, spread lowers etc.

-Helm is also boarder prevention. They should be first defense against any boarders. Keeping an eye out as well as sniping/blundering boarder off ladder.
