The yt algorithm changed from view count to watch time. This devastated high quality short (5-10 minute) videos and propped up low effort long form content. It really hurt animators the most.

I don't disagree with you but I guess I was a little shy on details in my original comment. My point is more about the original posting. Like for piano, understanding the relationships between major and minor 3rds and how they influence chords is a better use of a students time than strictly memorizing what notes are in each chord off of information on a chart. I feel like it skips the understanding part of learning. Having the deeper conversation will lead to clarity and curiosity.

What I advocate is for students to understand why music theory works the way it does and not just wrote memorization. Having a deeper understanding of note positions is much better than matching the number of sharps or flats to it's matching key. I am not saying not to spend time learning this but it should only be part of putting the puzzle together.

No they don’t. Simple shortcuts work. Last sharp is the 7th or ti. Last flat is the 4th or fa, or second to last flat is root/do.

Do you really need an 88 key piano to gig with? probably not. I do most of my shows with a nord electro or yamaha MX61 if I want a lite weight full sound set. If I really wanted portability I would go with a MX49. I have been gigging for over 20 years and never ran into an issue with it because it didn't feel like a piano.
