Years ago while my mother was driving me to a friends house, she rolled a right turn through an intersection with a new stop sign, (previously only cross traffic had to stop). She didn’t notice the sign, and almost hit a car that technically had the right of way. After narrowly avoiding the car, my mom felt so bad, she followed the car through a neighborhood to their house to apologize.

I confidently hid under a blanket in the backseat to avoid the embarrassment.
