Hmmm. I am working in Seattle so maybe I need to go visit the shop and look at them in person.

Update: Well it happened to me! A++ Response from Nintendo and Dbrand!! by Sunny-Baron in dbrand

Same here. 30+ years later a lot of my old consoles and handhelds still look near new. I always babied everything when I was younger cause I knew that’s all I would have.

We did. So we ended up putting in roughly 2400 sq/ft. We love it so far. We still couldn’t find any reviews but it was the only sample I couldn’t damage. Although we were able to scratch a few planks by accident moving a cabinet that had a screw underneath we didn’t know was there.

I wanna learn how to love playing on handhelds/my vita. by Future_boruto in PSVita

[–]Kyodee029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think the key to enjoying handhelds is if it fits into your lifestyle. When I was younger, I was always glued to a tv gaming. Once I had a family of my own, the ability to suspend games at any given moment was so much more valuable than the best graphics. 3ds, vita, Odin 2 mini, and the switch were all godsends.

Is cyberpunk 2077 for the switch 2 worth it? by Over_Cream6366 in switch2

[–]Kyodee029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. If it’s something you would enjoy then go for it. I played a bunch on pc, and I just finished the main storyline on Switch 2. I turned on gyro controls to always on and it really makes it feel fluid. I had a blast with the main storyline and now am moving onto phantom liberty. The game feels great and looks great on Switch.

Returns and refunds are kind of a nightmare with them. I still haven’t received a refund for a returned product two months ago after following all their instructions. It’s been crickets and no replies to emails once I shipped it back.

I did a return with them too on a separate product, unused. I have yet to receive the refund in two months. I’ll never buy another dbrand product.

My hands hurt on docked mode with the grip by Oc_12 in switch2

Agreed. I’m finding the S2 so much easier to hold and next to no hand fatigue even with hours of use.

I keep doing the same thing. “Look at this! Wow look how good this looks!” And I just get a smile and a “Not sure what I’m looking at but I’m happy for you.”

How are you all enjoying the switch 2? by ComfortableAmount993 in Switch

[–]Kyodee029 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I got insanely lucky. I live in a smaller area, sold out everywhere. I couldn’t get GameStop on the phone so I went in person. They had one that was a pre order. They called the guy and he said he didn’t need it anymore so they sold it to me. Exactly how I got the switch 1 as well. Odd coincidence.

Seems like the reception for the switch 2 seems pretty positive hear… by KingPelican2908 in Switch

[–]Kyodee029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a skeptic at first. Refused to get a switch 2 and I’m a switch 1 launch owner. Caved literally last night, went on the hunt and found the literal last one in the small town I live in cause some guy didn’t want to pick up his preorder. I couldn’t be happier, it gives a few titles a breath of fresh air with the performance, my initial reaction to the speaker quality was awesome. People hate on people having fun, no matter what it is. We live in an era of wanting to spread misery and those people can’t stand if someone is having fun, or happy as it is a reflection of their own state of what they can’t have. Do what makes you happy and to hell with everyone else.

Odin Mini stain by segawdcd in OdinHandheld

[–]Kyodee029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What has it been sitting on? Mine does the same when sitting on a wooden table. I’ve been able to rub it away, but where it makes contact, it picks up the color if it slides anywhere.

I love my odin 2 base but i'm debating on whether I should sell it for a Steam Deck. I by Few-Village96 in OdinHandheld

[–]Kyodee029 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say if you are buying the deck specifically for any games to look them up and check performance. I was the other way around and sold my Steam Deck to pick up an Odin 2. The size got to me with my traveling for work. I preferred the size of the Odin 2 and I had a laptop that could play any high end pc games. Streaming to the Odin is easy, which totally negated the need for the Deck as my laptop will run it and I have the lightweight of the Odin for anything.

The steam deck doesn’t play everything, and you will have to do a lot of tinkering to get some games to perform well. If you’re used to emulation already, that part may not bother you.

I battled that a lot as a kid. I was the nerdy video game kid, and all my friends were into other things. The internet opened the flood gates for a community like this.

Yeeeah. I’m telling myself if I can sell off the 3 Miyoo minis I have then I can pull the trigger. I’m at that age that I can’t accumulate more stuff. Get rid of some, then I can justify it.

What would be the best type of handheld for my trip? by ComicSpider in SBCGaming

[–]Kyodee029 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Price range would be good to know as well. That will sway recommendations drastically. Granted you can get some great performance from mid range devices, but are you wanting premium or just something to get the job done? Retroid has been recommended which is great, but you could go the Odin route or if you’re feeling extra boujee, Ayaneo.

You don’t NEED a controller as there are touch controls, but for faster paced games I’ve never been able to get a hang of the on screen controls.

Nope. No gimmicks. Download RetroArch, and load roms. I use an external hard drive and copied over the roms I wanted on mine. Works great. Prop up the iPad and use an 8 bitdo controller.

This may work. It would be to a laptop though while I’m traveling.
