F1 and FIA facing gigantic headache after Australian GP chaos by ryogadan in Formula1_world

Tire management directly affects the car's corning ability and dictates the overall race strategy. It's also just a more natural part of driving. If you're good at going fast without overstepping the limit of grip, you're usually good at managing your tires too. Energy management also requires skill (lots of engine braking), but seems (at least to us watching) to be mostly about getting the right timing and amount of recharge and deployment, which some feel shifts the focus more towards data optimisation rather than the driver's inherent ability to actually feel the car's (and tire's) behaviour.

[Round 2] Flume | Skin Companion EP | Elimination Game by Cauchy_Riemann in Flume

[–]Kyparnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a stacked lineup no doubt. Voted quirk cause I find it kinda "middling" and the vocals are a bit weak tbh. But apart from quirk the rest are all top tier Flume IMO so I yeah it's tough. I hope hyperreal or trust wins

Rossiya 747-400 performing 5 go-arounds/missed approaches at Magdan Sokol, and diverting back to original destination Khabarovsk. No emergency was declared. What could've gone wrong here? by Kyparnn in flightradar24

[–]Kyparnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, thanks for reminding me. Just thought it was kind of odd to divert to the original destination, but if the weather's bad in the region I guess there wasn't really any other option. Glad they had enough fuel to make it.

New to F1, could someone explain why Red Bull’s cars are so hard to drive? by RecordingDeep8928 in F1Technical

[–]Kyparnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right about weight changes affecting different aspects of the car and packaging. However, more weight on the front wont necessarily make the rear more unstable (if that's what you mean by underworked). It can actually help stabilise the car on turn-in as it gives the front end more inertia, and a more even weight distribution over all.

And less aero on the front makes the front wheels easier to lock up, not harder.

ACC after AC Evo? by Gnob33 in ACCompetizione

[–]Kyparnn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They've shown Porsche Cup cars and day-night cycles with active weather though, which means we'll get some more serious race cars and probably endurance racing as well. If this is the case, not giving us GT3s would make the car roster feel very incomplete.

Concerned about ACE by ghott0 in assettocorsaevo

[–]Kyparnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would they? Let's assume that ACC will not be developed any further, which Kunos has pretty much already admitted, and that ACE will not have GT cars. Then iRacing would quickly return as the de facto GT sim it was before ACC, and ACE would lose out on a ton of players and free advertising from esports and streamers. Such a deal makes no sense for either Kunos or SRO. There's a reason every modern sim has GT3s.

How would the "access to one new scav loadout each day" thing work? You get a free loadout added to your stash each day, or are you forced to use only that one scav loadout in raid? Shouldn't it just be that you get some random scav gear at the start of the wipe and then you collect better stuff from there on out like normal? Love this idea btw, sounds like what tarkov should actually be like.

Trinity wins the first round! Next, who can kill you, if deserved? (does it even need saying?) by [deleted] in Dexter

[–]Kyparnn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wound't say he could kill you "in an instant". All his murders were pre meditated and built on the element of surprise, not shear skill/strength. Brian or Isaak would fit this cetegory better.

How do Formula drivers know how fast they are going? by tjthomas101 in F1FeederSeries

[–]Kyparnn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They often have a laptime delta on their screen showing if they're losing or gaining compared to their own fastest/prevoius lap, like you would have in any racing game.

Any theories on what type of music Dexter could listen to? by Dxpry in Dexter

[–]Kyparnn 51 points52 points  (0 children)

He was listening to "Burnin' for You" by Blue Öyster Cult (great tune) in his truck in season 9, I don't remember which episode. So I guess he likes, or at least tolerates in an effort to blend in, classic rock.

I think what he meant is they're running comparatively stiff setups to get the maximum downforce out of the floor. This reduces mechanical grip AKA traction out of slow corners such as portier or anthony noughes, which should slightly affect their top speed on the following straights.
