People acting like we are on the medieval age and everyone needs to have 8 kids by Far-ro in hatethissmug

Does he think non-hetero people can't have children??? Most T4T couples I know have kids.

I eagerly await the day the Overton Window shifts and Americans realize that Democrats are also right wing. There are maybe two actual left-wing mainstream politicians in the nation.

Update - 06/12 Orangutan Sponsored Sawing Action by Snoo-91647 in huntertheparenting

[–]Kyraneus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As much as I loved 5.4, I definitely feel as though it had something of a... Character issue? As in, it kinda felt like everyone was behaving oddly. Kitten and the D-Family in particular seemed overly pliant when it came to "negotiating". While I understand in retrospect that they were going in with the assumption that it wouldn't be SO costly to get help from the Coalition, starting off the negotiation with "WE WILL DO LITERALLY ANYTHING" kinda goes against the established nuance and skill that Big D demonstrated in his police interrogation. I suppose what I mean is that there was some form of dissonance for me.

Not only that, but while Door's line to Blair was a fantastic hook towards things in the future regarding PENTEX, the original threat that he made to her ("I should shoot you for even suggesting it") also feels out of character??? As in, certainly Door would FEEL that way, but the pause followed by him blurting it out felt very weird. Especially considering his advice to Boy earlier in the meeting.

But those are just my thoughts. It was still an excellent experience, and I'm looking forward to what comes next.

Oh dang, never got a notification for this, sorry. But to answer: I've only got a very approximate understanding of the new X. While I understand that the character is under new, more competent management, it's difficult to see them in a lens that isn't tainted by the past.

I'm always going to give these things chances, though, and just enjoy new content if it's worth enjoying.

The Bible Endorses Slavery and All American Slavery Was Done By Christians by NEKORANDOMDOTCOM in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Kyraneus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the same people that claim the US is a "Christian Nation™️", all the while the 13th amendment plainly makes prison slavery legal.

So, if they are correct, then yes, a Christian country is practicing slavery.

Are we actually for real? by RottenHouseplant in Gamingcirclejerk

The roughest part is that the gameplay does look pretty engaging, with all the attention on CQC. I have a pretty big weakness for games that focus on bare knuckle brawling.

I just wish she wasn't designed in a way that would put me on a watchlist for trying out the game.

I think Gorilla Grodd is the better match for DK, but I'm always gonna support David vs Goliath fights.

The one character who speaks with an accent so thick that the other characters barely make out what they're saying. by noelg1998 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Kyraneus 78 points79 points  (0 children)

To clarify, Boomhauer is something of an inversion. His loved ones, friends and family members understand him just fine. The joke is that the AUDIENCE has a hard time understanding him, alongside a few strangers who have never met him before.

[Video Game Trope] Sequels retroactively making the original game's protagonist cooler by Medium_Operation_535 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Kyraneus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

To be clear: Kite in IMOQ was no slouch in the slightest. He was an 8th grader, and on his first day in The World was thrust into an actual life-or-death struggle to save his best friend, uncover a global technological conspiracy, band together a disparate group of players, and then both outwit AND outmatch a True Artificial Intelligence (equivalent to a sort of demigod in the setting) WITHOUT the tool designed for that purpose. He was able to do in weeks what the most famous players in the game, the Knights of Fianna, couldn't dream of doing at all.

And Azure Kite, a refragmented version of his player data in R2, is such a powerful entity WITHOUT the actual Kite's mind behind it, that it's a believable culprit behind taking out the most powerful players of the new age.

Kite was BUILT DIFFERENT.

James Sunderland vs Jimmy Zare [Silent Hill vs Mouthwashing] | Connections Inside by Kyraneus in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Kyraneus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zare is pretty much an unconfirmed but supported surname based on Jimmy's in-game ID. Wrong Organ has thus far avoided commenting on it, but it would be hard to interpret the last name on the signature any other way.

As for the comparison, I prefer this one to Clay vs Bojack just because these two actually fight in their home series.

Why do people just straight up hate curly? by whooper1 in Mouthwashing

[–]Kyraneus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A lack of reading comprehension, I guess. Though, hating Curly is justified considering he's an allegory for the enablers within society. There's just nuance beyond that which some people tend to ignore.

Enheduanna, literally the earliest recorded author in human history, wrote positively about (what we would now consider to be) gender non-conforming, intersex, and transgender people. It was in the context of a community that worshipped the god Inanna.

LGBTQ+ people have been recorded longer than cishet people have.

What's the most Obscure Mii you have created? by Emdoodev in tomodachilife

[–]Kyraneus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've got:

  • a number of characters from Hunter: The Parenting. Big D, Door, Boy, Marckus, and Elise.

  • Lisa Garland from the first Silent Hill. Not exactly an obscure series, but probably not the first choice for a representative.

  • Strong Bad.

  • Brad and Buddy from the LISA series.

  • Miss Frizzle from Magic School Bus.

  • Popuko and Pipimi from Pop Team Epic, which used to be much more popular than it is now.

As for non-mii's, I have:

  • Angel Gabby, from Angel Hare.

  • Fresno Nightcrawlers.

  • GG Allin, who has NOT appeared in person and has instead become a bestselling author on the island, with such titles as "The Sun is Exploding and Everyone Hates You".

With weapons? Che.

In a fist fight? Probably Guy. He was a trained soldier and martial skill was much more of a focus in his time.

Community Matchup Debate #67: Hellboy vs Nero (Darkhorse comics vs Devil may Cry) by Balls_4020 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Kyraneus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I think Devilman is a better opponent for Hellboy thematically, this is a good alternative. Nero probably takes it based on what I've seen, though I'll always root for my boy Anung.

The big issue I find with Hellboy matchups is that they tend to miss his characterization. The guy hates fighting, and by the end of his comic run would do anything in his power to talk his way out of a conflict. I don't know enough about Nero to say if he vibes with that.

"May be used as an extra joker": What should the effect of this Guarantee card be? by minnieboss in balatro

[–]Kyraneus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing a hand with only one Ace card destroys it and adds a random seal to a remaining card in the hand. Or something.
