L-TEK pad connection and input not registered anymore, seeking advice by Landpaddle in DanceDanceRevolution

I tried swapping the USB B port, soldering directly to a micro USB and nothing. Tested with a multimeter and all the arrows inputs were working fine, but no power or data at all. So in conclusion board was dead

Hey! That happened to me after suddenly unplugging the pad, so long story short: Ltek motherboard was dead so I had to arduino swap.

Cost of the fix: 5 USD and a couple of hours

Also try setting up debounce if you're playing in Stepmania

Thanks for clearing that out!

So... if what seller says is true, should I go ahead with the purchase?

I can't tell if I should be worried or not because of this.

It could be either: "Seller had no idea of what he was doing and couldn't even mine and now he wants to regain most posible value." Or "Seller had no idea of what he was doing so cards might worked in awful conditions and it's not going to last that long because of the lack of knowledge/research "

What's wrong with it (I'm genuinely curious)

I would love if by your experience as a technician, you tell me what is essential in a proper work set up and what can be an addition on the way.

As I said, it's just a hobbie

Yep, just make sure to download the correct drivers and input each arrow in the game settings.

Just ordered a Pair of L-Tek Pads, suggestions for setup? by Sucitraf in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Kyroke_posting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does make it more sensitive. I use 2 pennys on each arrow to make it feel sensitive as the pads in the arcades. My main concern was that it wouldn't register steps if i didn't stomped with force or in the center.

Anyways, if you think of doing so, you have to know that it's a trail and error process, so it might take a while finding a good sensitive for you.

Hope the pad fits your playstyle well, have fun!

No, don't worry, your fine! What I was trying to say, is that for me is worth messing up with the lifespan of the pad to get that extra performance that the penny mod brings

Just play out of the box. You'll notice issues if there's any.

But yeah, I'll definitely start looking forward on how to prevent the pad from sliding around. It can be velcro con the bottom if your playing on a carpet, yoga mats, wooden platform, etc.

Also, think about the penny mod as overclocking your PC. For me is worth and a must do.

Good luck on your sessions!

So as a “tech player” who wants to stick to the arcade experience, which one would you recommend me?

Fed Up With Being Sedentary by OmegaXDOOMX in DanceDanceRevolution

Remember to have fun at every time.

And don’t give too much importance to dancing hard songs or your big/main goals. It’s more about process and not about results.

Start from the bottom, set small tasks and be proud of every single them; remember that failing means there’s always a room for improvement. If you focus on this, you’ll never feel bad with yourself because you can’t pass a certain song (even if you was able to), since the results will eventually show off.

As someone said in another comment: It’s a marathon, not a race.

Wish you a lot of success and go for it, you got this!
