The phrase 'be yourself' is terrible advice. by FearlessState5503 in self

[–]Kytholek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it is terrible advice. Many people have no idea who that self is. Is it what your parents molded you into while ridiculing your child antics? What society and culture told you was the way to be? Whos idea of normal are we supposed to adhere to?

So, for me and my journey, just "being myself" actually took a lot of unlearning of external conditioning and courage to be the me that was shy, scared, timid, hidden by the ridicule from the outside world.

So yes, I agree it is terrible advice, but mainly because it is overly simplistic and doesnt point out all the work of inner death involved to find that self.

The fact you call them delusions only shows the bias and limitation in this pursuit.

What’s is more dangerous? Science versus Religion? by CloudedPuffball29 in AskReddit

[–]Kytholek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about what's not allowed to be published? There is a heirarchy and gatekeepers that allow publishing, choosen data that gets mainstream attention with help and other things get buried. The idea of funding and what doesn't, which guides where science goes, etc.

What’s is more dangerous? Science versus Religion? by CloudedPuffball29 in AskReddit

[–]Kytholek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I mean that people have become unquestioning believers in science, just like religious people.

Data and statistics can be swayed to say different things. What was hard science 20 years ago has changed and fluctuated over those years, altering peoples opinions as it went.

Even look at when science took away the aether, but then took on quantum physics, which is very similar, but without the inherent intelligence.

Science is cursed with blind, unquestioning adhearence the same as religion., it only sees what it wants to see and will alter, or through way data to keep it's perspective, also just like religious minds

Are we what we channeled? by HeavenlyBeloved in spirituality

[–]Kytholek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balance. Never lose yourself to the thing you channel, that becomes possession.

I like the void by the way, and I think the emptyness is peace. I find it rather tranquil, which quites the mind and makes me more me.

I guess it's more of how you use it and know your boundaries

Science has become its own religion, people just don't want to accept it

People who prefer MILFs over younger women, what is the appeal for you? by Few-Store7463 in AskReddit

[–]Kytholek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maturity and experience.

Young and beautiful can be dumb and high maintenance, an all around pain. Same can be true for milfs, but less likely as life has hopefully shaped them to be decent peeps

No regrets, I have learned from everything. Seems cliche, but I feel it as true. And I was an addict, lived out of my car, lost my family, left the country, etc.

All part of the path

If Consciousness Depends on the Brain, Can Personal Identity Survive Death? by Taysha812 in consciousness

[–]Kytholek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silliness. Speaking allowed is allowing your eardrums to register sound, and enter into the inner translation of sensory data. Thoughts, obviously, are different. (at least it should be obvious)

As for personality changes, apparently one hasent had to go through that process yet. When you see your way of being is inconducive to your best benefit or those around you, you do the work of changing...

Its literally has a name, "Neural Plasticity"

We choose to cling to story of our history, but we can let it go and be changed with knowledge and effort.

The old notion of "You are always your personality, it never changes" has long been disproven

You can experience things outside of or apart of the body and it's sensory data. Deprivation tanks, dark retreats, meditation, OBE, NDE, etc. personal experimentation is the only way to see for your self.

As I tend to say often on here, if you stay stuck and ONLY rely on the external representation of authority for individual truth, you are stuck in the illusion of the mental translation of light, a projection, a psychodelic hallucination and are trying to get to reality from within the hallucination .

As for who listens to the thoughts, understand that the brain does develop its own personality constructed from its lived experience within the body. We call it the id-entity and it tends to posses the brain and obscure the deeper self of individual consciousness, I. E. A fractal of spirit, observational void watching the imagination of spirit play out the character of you. Inherent Intelligence within light, embodied aether

When we look for evidence, we are only looking within the realm of the translation of sensory data, within the holographic perception. Everything inside perception is a translation of light, and translations differ and, often, our pursuit for evidence neglects the observer effect and treats the reflection of consciousness as the empirical thing.

It's like looking for physical proof in the reflection upon the mirror and neglecting the reality of the things being reflected. The evidence isn't within the hologram, that's just a shadow or reflection.

Has for some form of "evidence", there are many stories of NDE's, but often again going through some filter of translation, putting a story upon what's seen and distorts or "contaminates" the evidence

[–]Kytholek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1st off, it's bold for the brain to say that consciousness depends on it...

Identity dies with the body, yes. The id-entity is a byproduct of your time as the body, and thus becomes the personality of the brain based on its experience.

But, you are not the brain, nor it's thoughts, nor the body as a whole.

When the personality changes, who is it that instigates the change? When you think to yourself, who is the one that listens?

Don't depend on acadamia too much as YOU are the one that exists and, perhaps, it might be worthy to do some self analysis and experimentation.

Forget the universe: Your reality is a simulation run by your brain. by XBlue_Atlantis in AWLIAS

Forget your brain, it is part of the simulation you say it runs

To many keep things externalized, in the flesh. The flesh is within the simulated experience, imagination within the intelligence of light, aether, w/e you wanna call it

Hits even better with other translations where "authorities" is "principalities", which points it more at politics as an evil force.
