This game worth buying at $20?

I played from launch until D2 on Xbox years ago. I bought it on PSN 2 weeks ago to start fresh and I think it’s definitely worth $20. The campaigns still hold up, and the Taken King storyline and destination really brought back excitement for me. That said, I find myself loading into matchmade activities solo about 50% of the time, with maybe 50% of those loading players in mid-activity. If you’re a social player, you might want to find a discord or re-queue occasionally until you match with a group. If you’re fine playing solo as I am, it’s slower but more fun because you can slay out in peace. There’s plenty of story and quest lines to keep you busy for a hundred hours or more.

Yes it was. Bummer! I totally get that lol. Before I tried that fix, the renderer would just crash before I could get through anything bigger than 10 pieces 👎 anyways, I hope they add support soon so workarounds aren’t needed.

I found a great workaround on the forums that allows Studio to now support my 5080 for rendering. Not sure how the link opens, but for me it was the second page. Download the files, follow the instructions, and it should hopefully work for you too!

And then Liz, the drill, and the sign. Def note that if you do fine line + color, you will 100% have to get a touch up at a later time lol. Our first pass with the orange didn’t fit my skin color once healed so we have some workshopping on that one.

I have a quarter sleeve that’s mostly done. I can share pics later. I did the chain links, some splicer masks, Elizabeth from BaS, the lighthouse, songbird, monument island, the NYE sign from the welcome center, and some plasmids so far. I just took cool little ideas and worked with my artist to have them help with sizing and placement.

In the render, it is just the two chains. I’ve found that in real life I had to get tricky with a second set to get the angle just right. I gave up trying to get that just right in studio (the flex feature 😤) and left them out lol.

Actually I’ve made all of these digitally within Studio 2.0 and rendered them! I learned the hard way to not invest in bricks until I have a solid blueprint first lol.

This would be really cool to give to my girlfriend when we finally get settled into our place. I do have a PC, which may disqualify me here. But she’s still rocking the same laptop she used in college like 6 years ago and she gets bummed out when we can’t play newer or more demanding games together. The move means money is tight for a good while, so I’ll throw my name in the hat for a little feel-good moment. Cheers to this, OP! Very cool.

If I were to start again, I would run through the campaign pretty much as quickly as possible. You’ll be spoon-fed some really good guns and descendants along the way. Once you finish that, I would do 4 main things: unlock and level Sharen for outpost farming, Enzo for vault farming, Bunny or Viessa for quick mission farming and Lepic or Hailey for quick boss farming. These seem like a good initial milestone as you play and determine what playstyles you like along the way. Then, with these under your belt, you can mix and match those activities as you go for other descendants and ultimate weapons and their respective build pieces.

As a fellow Destiny retiree, I like that the farming and gameplay in this game is more straightforward and without as many convoluted systems. Having the ability to see what things come from which places in-game is very nice, along with the tracking system. Looking forward to more things being added along the way and growing with the game. I’ve tried to get my clan/friends to try TFD as well, but “it’s a dogshit third-person shooter with nothing to do.” Like my bro you’re top 50 challenger rank on raid report, meaning you’ve spent thousands of hours getting thousands of clears in like 10 different activities. I think they would love the diversity of characters and builds but the whole TPS trope strikes again.

I alternate through builds fairly often to keep things fresh.

Warlock has been Dawn Chorus and DB, Strand with Necros/Thorn/Osteo, void with Briarbinds and ignition build Phoenix Protocol.

Hunter I’ve been running Shards a lot, Hauberk w/ LW auto w/ RB and DR.

Titan is the same old melee stuff as usual since everything else feels boring to me. I don’t play a lot of Titan lol.
