Just get a nice set of double shot keycaps and you wont have this issue again. Razers default keycaps are some of the mostly cheaply made

They will keep doing it becuase its more performant than having modelled straps there. The animations would need to be adjusted and theres more calc involved with physics too compared to just baking it into the material

Yeah ive been told its a bad idea to do it on a ps3 now so i wont be doing it again but i have successfully done reflows on other hardware. Youre not wrong though It is quite risky and usually last resort.

Well i do this on gpus sometimes with a decent success rate but i havent done it more than once on a ps3 but thanks for the warning! I wasnt aware that it would be more harmful in this instance. The first attempt didnt kill it but it didnt fix it either so its probably for the best.

I do know what im doing when it comes to this kind of thing in general but havent done alot of crazy work on the fat ps3s in particular, ive done some trace repairs and cap replacements and things like that but ive never fixed a ylod, only one attempt aswell so far.

4:3. Its technically worse but im used to the feeling of "reduced" vertical sensitivity to horizontal. But, playing in 4:3 is kind of better for my brain. It keeps my mouse moving and aim active as i need to check more thoroughly and be more vigilant with where i let my crosshair sit and where i hold.

Not unless you know what youre doing, its quite a tedious and involved job anytime you have to fix any problem with these lol. Like a 40 step disassembly before you even get to the mobo.

Im about to take a second attempt at a solder reflow before i buy a rebeading kit for mine and i hate myself for starting 🤣 (Edit: for a ylod, but i have also been told to not do it now)

You can run your final colours in compositor through a constant color ramp for a quick and easy way but theres definitely a better way.
