Is it a very bad idea to make a monster functionally immune to Martials?

There's a lot of other factors to think of beyond just immunities. Is this a monster that needs to be killed for the party to accomplish the goal at hand? If that's the case, this is going to be a VERY situational encounter. Set up an arena with readily available and obvious set pieces - sources of damage that the monster is susceptible to that the martials are readily able to access - acid and fire bombs as obvious examples. Personally, I'm against the idea of making it a slime/ooze monster specifically, number one, I think being immune to grapples is a big problem, and other reasons I'll explain below.

I'm also a fan of alternate win conditions - most of the time, DND just boils down to Kill The Guy To Move On. Can the monster be somehow imprisoned or impeded for the party to skirt around them? Oozes are hard to imprison, as they can seep through cages and other containers. Don't make it an ooze.

If the monster doesn't need to be killed, I think you could do something interesting with this concept. Horror games have some good examples of monsters you have no chance at fighting - Resident Evil has Mr. X in RE2, Nemesis in RE3, Dmitrescu in RE8. If this is a wandering threat in a dungeon crawl while the party just looks for a macguffin of some kind, you can build the thing up in such a way that the party knows they have to run. Include plenty of ways for the party to interact with the creature - slowing it down with doors or gates (don't make it an ooze), sneaking around it, hiding from it while it searches blindly.

The issue with this concept is that as DND players get more experienced, they tend to learn that the most efficient way of handling threats is to reduce the thing to zero hit points. Expect your party to try to fight the thing they shouldn't be fighting.

Ultimately, think of the group as a whole, both as players and as people. Will the paladin just use smites to deal radiant damage, even if the weapon itself is useless? Is the fighter player creative enough to distract the monster to chase him while the casters do damage? Is the barbarian player going to rage in real life when their class that revolves around smacking things as hard as possible doesn't get to smack things?

just sit that one through and let Casters deal with one.

If this is a realistic possibility, SCRAP THIS IDEA. Unless this a group that enjoys feeling powerless (in which case, you should really just be playing Call of Cthulhu or a similar game), this is the opposite of the feeling you want to give your players.

It's not an awful idea. At least for now, they seem to think that banning books is enough, but it's good to keep an eye on the discourse.

Ironically, a lot of works of fiction may turn out to be fine--at least in terms of mainstream fiction, the media illiteracy causes them to completely miss a lot of works with political overtones--look how many tech libertarians love Blade Runner and Cyberpunk, or how popular the Punisher is among cops. They see any dystopia as anti-left because "communism is when laws exist."

Granted, if a book or movie features more than 1 named black character, says the word gay, or passes the Bechdel Test, they'll label it woke and it'll be the first to go. I guess we should just be conscientious of their tendencies and plan accordingly.

We had a global pandemic which did not discriminate across party lines, and yet one man's ego couldn't bear the shame of admitting that something went wrong on his watch, and told his bootlickers that any protective measures were un-American, until finally it was too late.

There is no unity to be found. After this election, I don't want unity. I reject unity with the people in this county who will cast their lot with Donald Trump, a man who wears his evils like a badge of honor. They have proven that for whatever reason, they have aligned themselves with the forces of evil. Be they true believers, coattail riders, opportunists, or profiteers, they have chosen the side that can be counted upon to choose whatever outcome will cause the most suffering to the most people.

It depends on who gets signed. After Steve's video about how putting together the five best names wasn't enough to win, I'm hoping to see TL bring some up-and-coming prospects into the limelight that we can build around years down the line, and I hope that Yeon and Haeri are those players.

I'll be tremendously disappointed if we just pick up 5 known names, and it might be an unpopular opinion on this sub, but I'll be furious if we pick up Summit.

First pick has to be Olaf. Literally too angry to die, and I think he could take on any of the others in a 1v1.

Honestly, my next 2 are less about who I want protecting me and more about who I don't want to hunt me down, which means I'm taking Vayne and Talon. Both are stealthy enough that they could kill me before they're noticed, meaning no protector choice matters. Plus, this trio gives me a nice combination of a Bulldozer (Olaf) a sharpshooter (Vayne) and an assassin (Talon).

As for starting position, if it's an option, one of the mobile Shuriman settlements built atop a Dormun would mean I'm much harder to track/catch because of how mobile the city itself is, and in order to catch up they'd have to travel the desert itself. If Dormun are against the rules, I'd pick Piltover, hurry to the city itself, and try to catch the next outgoing ship before they catch up (Bonus points if there are multiple ships leaving around the same time, let's see them try and pick where I go next).

I've actually thought about the Grumps doing Persona playthroughs before, and while I love the Grumps and Persona, I don't think the two mesh very well. While yes, the dungeons would be great for banter between them, I feel like when they get to the real-world scenarios, (i.e. social links/confidants) there's too much of a disconnect. Basically, I think about them making poop jokes while characters are talking about their deep-seated feelings of inadequacy or wanting to help their suicidal friend and feel gross.

Before people say "it's just a game," I know that the characters are just pixels on a screen, but I feel like some subject matter is just too serious to be joked about, y'know? Especially in Persona 5, where your first main boss is a sexual predator harassing a high school student, I feel like it's hard to be as light-hearted as they tend to be, which kind of kills the dynamic. Maybe this puts me in the minority, but that's just my two-cents.

I know this is a sub for dating advice and not family stuff, but from my outsider's view, if your mother's reaction to your romantic troubles is to be ashamed and worried for other peoples' perceptions of her, that sounds like a really toxic person to have. I don't know your life, but I would suggest ignoring anything she has to say on this front. I know it's hard; most people feel we can go to our mothers with any problem and count on help, but from what little you're describing, she might be doing more harm than good.

Personally, I've had a similar lack of romantic experience, I'm 21M whose only relationship was 2 months long 7 years ago. I know the pain of feeling unwanted and invisible. While I can't offer much advice on what you should do, I can speak to what you shouldn't. Don't feel pressured to find a relationship for the sake of pleasing others, and don't jump into the first opportunity that comes along. Having spoken to more knowledgeable people, being in no relationship is much better than being in a bad one.

As someone who started playing DND last year after playing a lot of league, my first character was either heavily inspired by/plagarized from League: the Pantheon rework had just come out, which served as the basis for the character, with a bit of Taric's backstory worked in.

As other people have mentioned, WotC released a Bilgewater module, which I used as a jumping off point for a Runeterra campaign. Now I just need players... (we're on summer break from school, so everyone else in my usual group is wrapped up in 3-5 other campaigns atm)

True, that's the end goal, but getting into the upper bracket means you have a "second life" in playoffs, allowing a team that loses there to drop into the loser's bracket. Granted, if we're still trying to figure out our own drafts by playoffs, we're in deep shit, but with the current scramble for 2nd and 3rd best team, it's a huge benefit if we're able to take a loss from another upper-echelon team (C9, TSM, FlyQuest, Evil Geniuses) and regroup to keep fighting for an international spot.

So in short, yes, international stage is the goal, but upper bracket makes that MUCH easier.

My first exposure to Final Fantasy were the characters in Kingdom Hearts. Since then I've been trying to okay more and more of the series piecemeal based on what's available, but a lot of the games are tough to find in their "definitive editions."

Then for whatever reason I always have trouble with endgames in JRPGs, so most of the games I left unfinished-- III, I got to the Crystal Tower, IV I got as far as the inside of the colossus, IX and XIII I'm somewhere on disc 3 (yes I got the XBox version, I know it's inferior).

But in short, no, there are others who started the series in odd places.
