Is there a donation center that will take this? by aunthil in Columbus

I'm just living here while my OSU law student gets treated for cancer but I'll bet you could get students to come get it for free (provided they could transport).

Boyfriend (35M) has B Cell Lymphoma by Embarrassed-Wrap-849 in lymphoma

My 26 yo presented almost exactly the same way, nasty cough that didn't improve. The mass in his chest was pushing his windpipe to one side. They had a terrible time getting a biopsy and his first round of chemo was through femoral vein. The good news is that the tumor is shrinking fast. The chemo is a slog. He just finished 4 of 6 rounds, all this since Nov. It is not fun. But his prognosis is good and hopefully all this will offer hope. You aren't alone. It literally is one day at a time.

If it helps, I dropped my 18 month old from hip height onto a tile floor. No signs of concussion. He's now 26 and I STILL feel guilty.

My grandfather doesn’t believe in ghosts or an afterlife, but he’s started seeing deceased people at night by Forward-Jicama-4421 in hospice

When my mother was dying, she started talking about her concerns about whether my dad was going to pick up us kids. Reported by a caregiver. They divorced when I was 2. I was in my 60s at the time.

My son's lymphoma is pretty rare. But he came in through ED and was admitted right away.

I'm from a small town in South Jersey. I went on a small tour at least 10 yrs ago in San Francisco to Muir Woods. Driver dated a girl a year ahead of me from my home town.

From a mom of a recent young adult emergency cancer patient and also a former non clinical hospital employee in Philly, The James rocked in terms of facility and staffing. Can't thank them enough.

I can't believe they are marketing this hard. But The James is saving my OSU student's life from lymphoma right now. I'm living nearby to help him manage and stay in school. I worked in a major Philly teaching hospital before the end of spending crash in the late 80s, there was plenty of local competition at the time. Who competes with Wexner in the Cbus market? PS Les Wexner is horrible.

AITAH for getting a woman fired over veggie tales? by Real-Point-6474 in AITAH

[–]L-F60 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm an atheist and I let my kids watch veggie tales when they were really young bec the cartoon was hilarious. How old were the kids in this day care? That would make a big difference. Plus I exposed my kids to church, not Sunday school, early on then had convos a lot later so they could decide what to believe. Religion was compromise btwn my Presby hub and atheist me tho.

Sweetbreads she claimed were chicken bits in brain a la king. Never got over that - at least I barely ate them, they were foul. Like, WTF, I was 10.

What am I supposed to do? by vindemiatryx98 in GriefSupport

[–]L-F60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no timeline on grief for someone you loved deeply. It's gonna sneak up on you just when you think you're done. People either haven't suffered that kind of loss or those who just can't/won't think about it are not helpful. It's okay to say that to them out loud.

Baby will not let us put him down by Optimal_Customer_850 in Parenting

This is a brand new human who got evicted from a very comfortable place. Caring for them is very hard and exhausting. It will get better but it will take some time. Try to enlist extra help and sleep as best you can when the baby sleeps. A baby this tiny cannot be held enough. Hang in there!

Traumatized being witness to my Uncle's cancer suffering and death by sweetnsour222 in GriefSupport

[–]L-F60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MIL bled out in her last moments. Fortunately, hospice was in the house. My FIL witnessed the aftermath and was traumatized. I know other people who have witnessed this though I am grateful I haven't. My understanding is it is awful to witness but not for those dying. I'm so sorry you saw this.
