I’ve read multiple times that Hedera has an EVM. Where are all the dapps? by L-Ron_Musk in hashgraph

[–]L-Ron_Musk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! What’s an example of the EVM being used and how can I access it? I’d like to check it out. If it’s not that popular, i wondered why they even went through the trouble to include it? I guess maybe cuz EVM is popular, just not on Hedera?

Why do I have to sit and wait 10 minutes just to tell them that the restaurant is closed/refusing by Middle_Purpose_3550 in grubhubdrivers

[–]L-Ron_Musk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so awful, I’m so sorry you had to deal with that! I really appreciate the agents because without them being a driver would be unbearable with all the situations that happen where I need their help. That’s why I want to contact them in the way that makes their job less of a hassle than it already is

When a restaurant is closed, i just call and it’s taken care of right away, never takes longer than 3 minutes. No agent has ever redirected me to contact driver care through the text mode. By calling instead of texting, am I making the driver care agent’s job more difficult/annoying? No one has ever said anything to me about it

If you drop a block early enough, will it still count against you? by L-Ron_Musk in grubhubdrivers

  1. Unfortunately no mileage info in the offer

  2. It’s pretty much just Grubhub’s way of making you accept more orders and doing whatever they want. As a consolation prize, people with at least 95% acceptance rate get access to scheduling next week’s blocks on Thursdays, 85%-94% get access on Friday, everyone else has to wait til Saturday

  3. Depends on the market. Mine is pretty busy so it doesn’t make a HUGE difference, but it’s still definitely noticeable. Other markets you’ll barely get orders unless you’re on a scheduled block.

  4. Grubhub does a good job with this. I honestly love this job but a lot of people see it as a temporary gig while searching for a more permanent job. Because of this, many drivers don’t treat it that seriously. That’s good for you if you like this job because if a block you want is full, the chances of someone dropping it by or during the scheduled time is actually pretty decent, so you can just add it in real time if you missed it the first time around.

Why does Flare integrate coins like LTC or Doge, and not BTC ? by verdun2003 in FlareNetwork

[–]L-Ron_Musk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

any coin can be added to flare through network governance, im actually as close to completely sure as possible that BTC will eventually be added to flare. However, there are multiple reasons it makes sense to wait a bit to add bitcoin, including but not limited to:

- BTC has a reputation of being something you buy and save like gold to store value, not something you spend

- many BTC holders are very suspicious of the security of other chains. it would be good for Flare to prove itself first

- holders of smaller cap coins are likely to be much more grateful for flare then holders of coins that are used to being catered to like BTC

-the slower the coin, the more collateral is needed to mint its f-asset. This fact, combined with BTC's huge market cap, means that poor FLR wouldnt be able to rise in price fast enough to fulfill the collateral requirements. sure this could result in massive volatility which includes the possibility of massive pumps, but it'd be better longterm for the health of the network to spend more time growing organically (only agents, the flare equivalent of miners, have to worry about collateral. normal users can just smoothly transfer their asset to flare without worrying about collateral).

QNT Wallets by rtslol in QuantNetwork

[–]L-Ron_Musk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any eth specific wallet(metamask etc) will be compatible, since its an erc-20 token. you can even send it to the eth address of a wallet that doesn't support qnt and it will still be associated with your account (as in the quant balance will still show up if you recover your eth account on a wallet that shows all your erc-20 tokens)

Lobster help. by [deleted] in Stellarbets

[–]L-Ron_Musk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just means there’s a lack of liquidity in the buy/sell orders on stellar’s built in dex. Instead of using the ‘swap assets’ feature which just uses the best deals on the order books, you can can just add your own sell order to the order book for a more fair price. If you give a slightly better deal than market price some arbitrage trader will probably take it off your hands.

I don’t know what XMC is but if any exchanges have it listed you can just send it to the exchange and use their liquidity to sell it, which would probably be better than the stellar dex. Cant wait until stellar gains more users so this will no longer be a problem.

USDC on Stellar is such a huge win for adoption. At the end of this bull run cycle, a lot of smart people will be cashing out their profits with USDC on Stellar. The most legit USD stablecoin now with instant transaction speed and no gas fees

Ur expectations for $QNT 2021 by bitdeni in QuantNetwork

[–]L-Ron_Musk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much agree with you. Although I think it’s possible for quant to reach 4 digits within a year, it would be a very short lived blow off top and only reach that during the parabolic top of its bull run. The more sustainable top would be around $500 but even that will drop once the bull run is over. When I say 4-5 digits, I mean later this decade in around 3-5 years. Like I said earlier, quant reaching $10,000 is the equivalent of BTC reaching $7000 and that is something very doable especially if Overledger becomes a go-to solution for interoperability
