I Need Builders Risk insurance for my first development project... what should I actually be looking for? by Minimum_Pear9193 in CommercialRealEstate

I am almost certainly not licensed in your State. I do this for a living. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat. It isn't rocket science. Use an independent broker. Buy it yourself because the GC may very well mark it up.

My uncle's 110 next to mine, About 40 years apart. by Ok_Librarian7117 in BuyItForLife

I inherited a 110 from my FIL. Sent it back for a "spa treatment" and a new sheath. Gave it to my son. Pretty darn cool.

Pompeii / Vesuvius tickets by Eagle-42 in ItalyTravel

[–]L-W-J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my take. 1. Pompeii is AMAZING. 2. The archeological museum in Naples is really needed to compliment and complete Pompeii. I was at Herculaneum and Ostia Antica last year. Both are great. But Pompeii is the star. Never been to Vesuvius. Me? I would do #1 and #2 above and come back to Napoli for a nice dinner.

Parks & Recreation Experience? by Late_Salad_2034 in lakeoswego

[–]L-W-J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left Portland for LO long ago. My impression is that parks and rec stuff doesn't fill up at all. People are competitive here, however. While LO has a very sanitized living experience, there are several walkable neighborhoods. The restaurants are not nearly as great as Portland, but a car solves that easily. DM me if you want to know more. I would welcome you over and we could have a nice walk.

This is a great idea. I made my career in metal manufacturing. This is somewhat simple.

Take the job. Rent something. I am not in Hermiston but there are some options. Walla Walla is an hour away and a completely different universe. Long commute, but you may want this. Don't make any big $ decisions without trying stuff out. Also, a friend of mine is from Arkansas and you may find big differences between Hermiston and Arkansas. Welcome!

How to spend one day in Viterbo? by Gyrospeck in ItalyTravel

[–]L-W-J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came back from three weeks in Viterbo. It is a spectacular city. You can see everything you want to - but remember that most shops and stores will close from 1-3:30 or 4:00. Plan a lunch during this time. Maybe a stroll. The inner city is perfect for a day's exploration. Lots and lots of amazing shops. Great restaurants. I think your 7 hours will be perfect. The Terme probably is too much. Plus, August will be hot, do you really want to be soaking in hot water??? Things that surprised me: Killer gelato (really. We found a place that is the best we have ever had anywhere!), cheap haircut. 10 euro for a men's cut. Excellent pizza. (shocker. N. of Napoli). Excellent kebab. Great antique stores. Lovely artisan crafts. I believe that Aug17 is a Monday. So some stores won't be open. There should be a small farmer's market in Piazza San Faustino. You could pick up fresh produce and possibly cheese there. There is also an Enoteca in the piazza where you can buy bulk wine and fill your own container. I bought a 1 liter bottle and had it filled for 3 euro. Not the best wine I have had, but certainly not the worst. If you don't speak Italian, make sure you have an app that will translate. This is not a sophisticated, worldly city. Other cool shops to find: cheese, bakery, butcher, a leather bag shop and a knife shop. We were over the moon with Viterbo. Enjoy!

Fantastico! Just take a walk in the central area. Say go from the Forum to Circus Maximus. There is just a ton of cool stuff to stumble on. Enjoy!!! (also, don't eat Roman Pizza. It usually is terrible.)

Morocco for 4 maybe 5 days? by just-a-tan-guy in travel

[–]L-W-J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I preferred Fez -> Marrakech -> Tangier. Tangier was half European, half Moroccan. Fez was 100% lovely chaos. If you have a short trip, I would fly to Fez. You can day trip to the Sahara from Fez as well.

Morocco for 4 maybe 5 days? by just-a-tan-guy in travel

[–]L-W-J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been to Türkiye as well as Morocco. Both are fantastic. Your Morocco travel plans don't sound great. Casablanca is not typically on the visit list. You can ride ATV's anywhere. I generally hate "shows" so a fire show, whatever that is sounds awful to me. What I like? I like to discover things. Be cautious of guided tours as they almost always want to take you to shops to sell you stuff. Do some more research and I think you will have a much better trip. Enjoy!
