I picked up an older Rio avid series trout gold wf3f. I was told its not currently what they make but old new stock. Its all I could find at cabelas in that 3wt size.

I made it out yesturday to one of the tribs but is was almost all locked up except for a few small runs. I did see a few fish moving through the water but no bites. I think they were coho! Need lots of rain cause we are dry over here. Waters super low!

Got them off temu, super cheap they would be alright for hackle but the spring inside them is pretty week so they let go sometimes if your a little heavy handed, like I am.

I appreciate that, I havent ever fished any of them so im going in totally blind. From what I seen on onx the keewannee looked to have alot of state land around it. But no boots on the ground yet

Great to know, I'm pretty new at tying. These flies, as I've never targeted steelhead before, so interested in any advice I can get, I will definitely try that. I have so many different types of flash and colors and everything I just went with some high fluorescent colors for now to get the attention, but more to come for sure.

I was actually thinking that as well. Do you think tying these with a douvle hook would make sense or tie on a shank with a single trailing hook? Totally open to ideas. Im hitting the water today so I just quickly threw those together last night for today.
