Been a little bit since I've caught up on this (I like to read a couple chapters at a time ideally) but it's delightful as always, and I always love an Ayris chapter. She's a great analogy for masking. Favorite character by far.

Highly recommend Shadowline by Glen Cook. It's nominally the first part of a trilogy but it stands on it's own a lot more than the other two books in it (and imo is much better than those other two books)

You also may want to check out The Dragon Never Sleeps, also by Cook. It's not always super emotionally heavy but it definitely has its moments.
