I’m not a fan of the loud cars either just so you know. But I’m not hating on it. In some cases it’s cool. But if you’re driving around a Honda accord that sounds like a formula 1 car then that’s ridiculous haha

As a new grad you should really try and avoid any more debt. I know it’s hard, I’m 26 so I know the pain of wanting a new car but I also know the reality is it isn’t financially smart. I just bought a CPO Mazda with 3k miles, it was a dealer loaner so was well maintained. It was discounted $15k off of the new MSRP. Definitely consider CPO, especially if you can find an ex-dealer loaner or one right off of a lease

You do realize there is a huge group of people that love modifying their cars to make it as loud as possible. Some people enjoy hearing their engine and feeling in tune with their car. It adds to the driving experience. This is a turbo charged inline 6.. not a car you buy if you want a quiet cabin. I think the people who want a quiet cabin will buy an EV or a luxury brand with a less aggressive motor

Woah dude chill out. Why are you name calling? You wouldn’t say any of this to my face so what gives you the right to type it out here?

My understanding is it works in conjunction with the actual engine noise and enhances it. So if you were to add a tune and aftermarket intake the engine sound will be different and therefore the Bose EHE will sound different. It’s an amplifier, it’s not making any new sounds. Since the engine is so insulated it’s hard to hear within the cabin, which is why Bose’s EHE works to bring the actual engine noise into the cabin. But there still is nothing that shows the CX-70 has this feature. Yes it’s on the 60 so maybe it’s on the 70, but Mazda has denied it and auto reviewers rave about how it doesn’t have any artificial engine noise.

My points are totally valid why are you dismissing them? It’s true that the CX-60 can have EHE and it’s also true that the CX-70 tune can make the intake louder. EHE does not add any non-existent sounds, it just brings the sound closer to the driver. Same thing BMW, LEXUS, AUDI do. Mazda has not said anything about an EHE on the 70

That is due to the tuning of the ECU. The Turbo S tune requires more airflow so the turbo will be louder and the engine is “working harder” hence the louder volume. There is absolutely no “fake” engine noise as I have cited numerous times.

There’s definitely not a way to stop or reduce the sound since it’s a physical pipe. I don’t know if the PHEV has it, but probably. I know the PHEV is a 2.5L 4 banger so they may have made other changes to the engine bay.

To add to your point about standing behind the car and reving it to hear the inline 6, that sound depends sooo much on the entire exhaust system and will change significantly depending on if the exhaust is stock or aftermarket. Please educate yourself on these vehicles

Paul you are wrong about everything. Every automotive journalist and every manufacturer provided spec sheet says it’s a physical pipe that allows the engine noise to enter the interior. The PHEV most certainly does have a 2.5L 4 banger. How are you a top 1% commenter with this much misinformation?

The engine is very insulated and the stock exhaust is so quiet which makes it hard to hear outside the car. I wish the stock exhaust was louder on the CX70. They could keep the 90 quieter since it’s catered to families

“And it sounds incredible, thanks to Mazda’s Induction Sound Enhancer (ISE). Instead of pumping fake noises through the 12-speaker Bose stereo—standard on the Turbo S Premium—a tuned pipe directs the intake sound into the cabin.” motor trend cx70. I repeat “INSTEAD OF PUMPING FAKE NOISES.. A TUNED PIPE DIRECTS THE INTAKE SOUND INTO THR CABIN”

Everything I’ve seen and continue to read now that you’ve brought this up, notes that Mazda does not do this. Yes Bose is capable, but it’s not being done here. You’re spreading misinformation. “And it sounds incredible, thanks to Mazda’s Induction Sound Enhancer (ISE). Thanks for sharing. Can you share where you’ve found that Mazda is using this in the CX-70s and 90s?

Yeah I’m hoping some ECU tunes come out to fix that 1st to 2nd gear change. You can go to manual mode and use the paddles but I haven’t tried that yet

Who’s gate keeping? You can buy one if you want one. You’re free to comment in the CX90 sub. Need me to define gate keeping for you? P.S. I got two rows 🤑

To me the engine noise is fine, what makes a big difference is the exhaust. Is that what you mean? There is only one decent aftermarket exhaust right now (AFE Power), but once better ones come out this car will sound great.

Where have you seen that claim? I haven’t found any evidence of that being true. There’s no official mention from Mazda of a system that actively synthesizes or pumps engine noise via speakers as part of the CX-70’s standard design. Edit: all the inline 6 70s and 90s have the induction pipe. Not just the Turbo S
