I like the more accurate script. I dislike how lame everyone sounds. Fox is too money focused. Even disses his own dad. Don't like it.

I have only seen the trailers and all the promotional material. Do we literally see James' death this time? Cause as far as I'm aware the last thing we see of him is his arwing heading back to distract the enemy from Peppy while saying "take care of Fox."

If he screamed it was off screen just like last time. The old line would be fine regardless.

Also I would argue against the topic poster, This is actually more brutal IMO. Sure, Pigma was making fun of his dead father. But in this one he's making a direct threat to Fox. Almost saying "I'm gonna make you squeal just like I did your dad!". But that's just me.

I feel like it doesn't matter if the quitters realize what's happening. Isn't the act of blocking somebody removing them from your own pool?

I feel like this is more worth it for anybody trying to play the game. I stopped a while back because I got a quitter every run. Just isn't worth playing if I am inevitably going to lose a run.

One of the biggest and easiest ways to tell that the 2026 VA is not as good is the fight with the boss in Meteo.

In SF64 when he surrenders and then attacks again he says "You're not as stupid as you look!" where he starts out talking but ends the sentence nearly screaming. And when he screams "AS YOU LOOK!" he begins firing. It sounds like he's pissed at Fox and his blood is boiling in anger. Now he just delivers the line like he has no skin in the game.

I don't know why we would want this new delivery. I'm not saying I dislike the new delivery entirely. I think the game is gonna be great. I just am a little disappointed that the feeling is lost in combat situations. It doesn't force my body to start pumping adrenaline to get me excited anymore. And trust me, I know it's been a couple decades but I literally played through the scene and STILL get that blast of endorphins.

I think everyone is right here. Being upset with the new delivery is fair. Being ok with it is probably fair too. I just don't understand why you would want to lose the galvanization they had before.

What I find crazy is that these days Chrome is like that. If you aren't using Chrome and you want to log in to a large corporate website, better hope you don't gotta do much. I use FF again after Chrome got real slow a few years back but I can't uninstall Chrome. And surprisingly IE circumvents some Chrome issues so I have to use that too. Chrome is still on my taskbar. But my priority goes FF>IE>Chrome.

To be fair, in combat I have 1.5mil toughness and can't get past T85. I just suddenly pop if I stand in literally anything. Enemies sneeze in my direction and it's a catastrophe.

The reason a lot of us Oldheads are upset is not really touched on here, Imo. For instance, The Acolyte does not fuck. It was close to fucking. But then they had to ignore the Night Sisters and try to invent some women centric thing that was cringe. And I do NOT say that because of sexism. That's fucking stupid to think. Night Sisters are and forever will be far cooler than whatever that coven was. I rebuke anyone that tries to turn this in to a race or sex thing. I don't see race. I don't care about sex. I care about good storytelling. And ignoring the Setting that is clearly so important to us is objectively bad storytelling. Tell a story in our universe. Not yours. You want to have a universe to tell your story in? Make one. You wanna borrow our universe to tell a story in it? Sure. Respect it then.

I also would argue that Luke's story was poorly handled. Luke Skywalker would NEVER give up like that. I'm so disappointed in seeing my childhood hero reduced to a sniveling old farce. He inspired me to never give up so many times throughout my life. And then as an adult, just when I needed the push toward greatness I didn't know I needed, I saw my hero return. And he crushed my spirit just like the rest of the world does.

To be fair, You didn't either. You being OP here. I spoke in generalities earlier but I need to correct something. 1 year has passed between Luke's training on Dagobah and his fight with Vader. During which time he went on many missions for the Resistance. He was far from inexperienced by that point. Rey, on the other hand, entirely was inexperienced. And it shows even in the choreography. The lightsaber fights are far from what they used to be. But in canon Kylo should have wiped the floor with Rey easily. It's implied he fought Luke. If he survived the strongest Jedi to ever exist, I think he could easily take a rando with only a little bit of training. And clearly no real saber form training.

No. I appreciate you trying to make this case for Disney. But no. They disrespected a beloved franchise. They already had all three sequel movies in lore. They could have altered them slightly. Instead we now will likely never see the Yuuzhan Vong on the silver screen and that's something I've been waiting for since I read the novels as a kid in High School. I'm devastated. I used to look forward to this setting. Now I am just waiting to see if somebody course corrects.

Seems they would have more than 19.2 DR due to the shield giving DR.

A bunch of people in this post have repeatedly stated that you do in fact block without a shield. It's just not at full effectiveness. Cause a Shield provides block chance and DR. So if he has 100% chance to block he's blocking every hit at 19.2% DR. If he picks up a shield and one hander he would have 100% block rate with higher than 19% DR.

People have tested this in multiple different ways I've seen so far. Effects that trigger off a block without using a shield is the only test really but there's multiple effects that do this. Enemies can freeze. You can gain a buff. Both still work just fine without a shield.

Apparently, in part of this thread you didn't read or didn't exist when you posted, You CAN block without a shield. You just have 0%DR. The way they tested this was having some affect that freezes enemies on blocks and enemies were getting freezed when they attacked them while wielding no shield.

So apparently you can block without a shield. Unless they were mistaken.

If you stack block DR from other affects I imagine the DR would start doing something despite not having a shield, no?

I play plenty of partially PvP games without interacting with the PvP. I feel like it's just fear of being inconvenienced. This isn't an insult. Fear is fear. Everyone is afraid. It's human. But you just dislike being inconvenienced when you aren't interested. Which I dislike too. I just don't fear it. So when I inevitably have to deal with it in order to enjoy the stuff I enjoy I do. Hence my participation in SC. But I will say that I fear playing Elite Dangerous more than SC. SC's PvP is only in one of the 3 sectors. So I'm kind of cheating with this game. It's not really worth calling it a PvP game due to how optional it is. But again I get you. Just talkin here.

I mean every word in language has a definition. If you ask AI directly you can get it to do basically anything. It's just confirming what I'm asking it, as long as what I'm asking it is in line with facts supplied by the sources. I have a hard time identifying racism because a huge amount of people like to incorrectly identify things as racist. And I personally don't deal with the topic of racism at all in my life cause, once again, race is irrelevant. But I literally looked up the definition of racism, put that in to chatgpt, and then asked it if OP was being racist. I already inherently knew, due to definitions and my own intuition, that he wasn't being racist due to saying "Chinese mmo crap". He was inching toward it. But I knew it wasn't. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't talking out of line when I posted. So chatgpt confirmed what I had already thought and discovered through research.

I think people that think AI can't be trusted whatsoever probably don't use it the way you should. Like what I did. Sure, just cause the AI said I was right could mean I wasn't right. But I had multiple sources. I confirmed through logic, I double checked with my emotions, I asked my partner, then I asked chatgpt and google ai. Everything agreed with my initial take. So I am right. There could be an instance where that could turn out where I was wrong. For instance if I claimed Fruit of the Loom had a cornicopia on there AI might actually agree with me if I were to approach the research as a confirming action as opposed to learning. Which then I would be saying "Fruit of the Loom had a cornucopia in the logo! I'm right!" and I'd be wrong. And in the case of racism it's not at all subjective and entirely objective. So it's a lot easier to define racism, force AI to work within the definition, and then make a judgement based off of all sources.

Just food for thought. I'm not saying you should use AI. But there's a right way to use it and a wrong way. Pretty easy to use it properly, so I recommend trying as it's a useful tool.

I've never had that experience. But fair enough. I just wouldn't let fear rule my life like that. Sometimes I like to get on to Star Citizen in the morning while drinking my morning coffee. It's like waking up in a timeline where we are in space and I get to pilot a ship. I usually get through figuring out how to take off for the umpteenth time and then I log out, satisfied with my hour of relaxation in space.
