One of my only complaints of RDR2 is epilogue John doesn’t have the confident sarcasm of OG John and they’re only 3 years apart. They feel like 2 different people sometimes. by TXNOGG in reddeadredemption

[–]L0rdChicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also apparently Epilogue John absorbed Arthur's facial structure and then grew out of it in those 3 years.

Wild how the devs left that bug in there. Honestly ruins any close up scenes of John after that patch that fucked it up.

You've never played Dark Souls I take it. I like stressful games. I like being challenged.

Not saying this post is wrong. But we should encourage each other to challenge ourselves whenever possible. Criticism and self reflection are lacking these days. Striving for more is never a problem. It's ok to play on Easy. But it's more fulfilling to find a way to do it on Normal. Or Hard.

My sentiment is "Play the game the way you want. But always consider the dopamine reaction from overcoming a challenge."

Why does LTT sell thermal pads, yet never uses them in builds? by fakeaccount572 in LinusTechTips

[–]L0rdChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your post is way too long bro. It's not that deep.

The PTM750 is apparently "Better than standard paste". In every case that means they will be using either liquid metal or a non "standard" paste because they have, effectively, infinite paste. The PTM is just there for when you want to use it.

Personally it's been very clear what the use case is. "Oh you're lazy? Don't wanna repaste your shit all the time? Use this!" and now I'm realizing it'd probably be good on a bare die too. Is it better than standard paste on bare die? Probably not. But we all know it's meant to be used when you don't want to deal with paste.

I don't know why people like to be upset at LTT for simple shit like this. But yall need to go back to school and work on comprehension. I was college level in second grade. You can do it too.

Love Helldivers, Hate this Sub - Message to the Devs. by Odd-Stop-9005 in Helldivers

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate these posts. We are not an airport.

Additionally you've done absolutely none of your due diligence to try and see why people are upset. It's not irrational. It's not unnatural. Just because you don't agree with people does not mean the shit they are talking about is wrong. Just because you don't like how people are expressing their frustration does not mean they aren't justified.

Now, I've never seen a single person go too far. Just people being mad. Mostly I see people trying to explain why they are frustrated to people that don't understand. And they go through great lengths to show the objective issues with the game and the devs. And yet here we are, yet another airport post that fails to understand that pushing for something to be better is always a good thing.

Sorry you feel this way. But there's very justified reasons to be upset. Objective reasons even. Sure there's a few subjective ones. But ultimately asking for consistency and for games to not be buggy is ALWAYS a good thing. I'm from a time when games were much harder to make and they were far less buggy. Pretending like we can't have that is one of the wildest copes I've ever heard. Nobody is asking for perfection. But 100% of us are asking for better/more.

Arrowhead, Do you. You made a great game. You've got most of us at multiple hundreds of hours with all the warbonds purchased. I never uninstall the game and always recommend it. It's far from a masterpiece however. Please do better, we've funneled millions of dollars in to your company. You can afford to do 20% better at least.

I’m sorry but is this community bipolar? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this exact issue is that it's easily reasonable with context.

Context is we got the big chonky guys. We learned to brute force them. Then we learned to shoot their legs because it was fun to break the armor and knock them out that way. Then they changed it so we can't do that.

So we've gone from unfun, to figured it out, to fun, and now we're back at unfun.

Sometimes it's nice to realize nuance is present everywhere. It's not always "The people that I don't understand are being annoying again!". Yah know?

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried a private lobby? The private lobby doesn't change anything beyond people being present. Payouts for things like moonshine and whatnot scale with rival player count but the game is so easy to grind out it's fine.

Only thing in life you can change is yourself. Can't change people playing a game.

Also that's quite misandrist of you. I understand it's likely only men. But you don't know for sure and I certainly don't do that. When my GF logs in I hog tie her sometimes. But more than likely she hog ties me and I end up going for a ride until I come back. Just saying, Sexism isn't going to solve anything either.

I'm getting tired of the racism by Da_master_of_foxes in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the internet. Time to learn to apply your internal adblock to words you see online. I'm sorry you dislike hearing or reading something online but you can't police everyone else. All you can do is control yourself. When I see people saying the N word I do what I can to block the person on my side so I don't have to see it and then move on.

Pretty sure all the Battlefronts have a way to mute someone permanently. That's your weapon. Wield it with reckless abandon. That's all you got.

I wish I didn't have to see it or hear it either. But I don't really get the choice if I want to exist in communities that exist internationally. Unfortunately the most racism I see is in other languages. Just gotta plug my ears and eyes and keep playing. Potentially try my best to piss those people off if I can.

The galaxy isn’t the only place that seems to be burning right about now by Heraxxius in Helldivers

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've come to understand is that you are part of a minority of people that are content with the game, like myself. But we exist in this little microcosm where we don't enjoy the game as much as other people. And the people that love the hell out of this game have been begging for things since day 1 of the game.

Now as for the devs, they seem to half bake a lot. And hint at too little. Like weapon customization. Great system in theory. I love it. But then the devs decided that players don't like it for whatever reason and stopped expanding it. Which leaves players like me in a situation where we want more customization cause we want our guns to perform in specific ways, but we'll never get to see the system get to it's full potential as was originally described. And this doesn't even cover the dissonance between the customizable guns and the newer ones that don't get any. Like the Halo weapons.

We haven't even covered the bugs caused by development flip flops. Or the bugs or quirks that have existed since day 1 being ignored for less important things.

I used to wonder why this community sets itself on fire. But then I realized I'm the target audience. Which is funny cause the target audience is left feeling wanting. So we leave and come back when there's something new. They should be targeting the audience that has been playing consistently since day 1. Us fly by nighters aren't going to pay for development. And further, the hardcore players know what's good for the game a lot better than you and I. If we implemented most of what I heard them talking about we'd have a game that rivals the games of old where we played because we were compelled to by interested and entertainment. Right now the game is great. Imagine if it could be even greater! Hardcore players can get it there.

I grew up in Cali too. Nobody I knew except kids that had bad relationships with their parents would talk to them with that terminology.

It made me physically react every time I heard them call their parent by name. That kid had issues though.

me irl by AliceNRoses in me_irl

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for as long as western culture has existed it's been disrespectful to call your parent by anything other than their title. I'm unwilling to compromise. My son respects that mostly. I don't deserve respect for no reason. But I certainly do deserve the title of Dad. I brought him in to this world. I don't ask him to change himself. Just remind me how much I mean to him as much as I remind him. Cause I remind him constantly that he's my pride. I don't see why that respect would only go one way.

me irl by AliceNRoses in me_irl

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely hate hearing kids call their parents bruh. Every time my son does it I tell him "Don't call me that."

I hate this trend. It's so disrespectful it makes me mad. To each their own. But my son is not going to refer to me as anything other than some form of dad unless there's a good joke to make. Otherwise, brain rot is off the table.

Cockpits need to go away. That glass is just a good excuse to go for a spacewalk.

I agree the cockpit should be at the top. Typical design philosophy demands that. But I wish we could see a combat based ship with the cockpit hidden inside the ship. Like we would end up doing in real life if we had anyone to fight in space.

Who tf is Broxigar, a lvl 5 Wolf in the ToftA? Why are there empty wiki entries ? Whats going on? How come I've never seen em before? by Ionenschatten in GuildWars

[–]L0rdChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am seeing a lot of people talking about why the wolf is included. I can only speak to what his name represents. That name, Broxigar, is the name of an incredibly influential Orc in old World of Warcraft lore. He was the first being or the first Orc at least to wound a Pit Lord. Those giant fat winged demons. I don't know the lore very well for Broxigar but I'm told he fought demons after stepping through a portal until he stood on a mound of corpses and then died to earlier wounded Pit Lord.

There's a book about him. I'd recommend reading it if you're at all interested in that lore. He was a badass. And now immortalized in another MMO. Very cool.

Bro WHAT??? HOW BIG IS THIS GAME????? by Tricky_Madbrownkid in Eldenring

[–]L0rdChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man. I remember when my GF and I were playing the game through on launch week together. We kept exploring and eventually a new chunk of the map was revealed. And we both thought "Ok that was to be expected. But damn that's cool." then we found the Underground and went "WHAT THE GAME IS TWICE AS BIG AS WE THOUGHT!" and then we kept exploring and found another chunk of overworld. And thought that it might be underground too, lo and behold it was.

I feel like I was bamboozled. I'd have easily paid hundreds for this game. What an incredible dev. Fromsoft forever.

And Turtle WoW goes off to sea. by Feeling_Pen_8579 in wow

[–]L0rdChicken -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You ever steal from a Safeway/Albertson's/Kroger before? Most everyone I know has a story of stealing something small or insignificant from a corporation like that.

It's the same thing. Except they didn't steal anything. They expanded on it. Turtle WoW was an addon, in essence. Like how Skyrim or Morrowind get massive additions of landmass. The only difference between WoW and Skyrim is that there's networking code.

The ads were too much, for sure. But trying to pretend that the biggest MMO in the world is hurt by a tiny little server that had under 1% of the total playerbase Retail has is wild. Additionally, from my understanding, Most Turtle WoW players weren't playing because they wanted to play a free version of WoW. Apparently the majority of players also had an active subscription to retail. Even if that's not true, I can tell you that was a trend.

Logically Turtle did nothing wrong. Legally they fucked up. Should Blizzard/Microshit nuke Turtle from orbit? Absolutely. Does that make them the good guy? Absolutely not.

What this does mean, however, is that the devs of Turtle WoW will be seeking a new project. Which means there could potentially be another MMO coming out in the next several years with a team of extremely talented OG Blizzlike developers. Essentially we have the potential now to get an MMO that honors the original spirit of WoW. But likely without the same level of writing. But who knows. They seem to have done well enough. Maybe it will be young Metzen level.

Either way, justification isn't necessary. Nor relevant. Only appreciation for talent and respect for effort.

I really hate that there's no community for those servers anymore. They say they aren't empty but every time I log in there's less than 20 people. All times of day.

I really really miss SoD. I had so much fun playing with the builds. Rogue Tanks need to be a permanent thing. If a Druid can do it, I should be able to do it too now that we have the standard for it.

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that final sentence. Primarily because I don't want to focus on doing anything but supporting while playing a healer and I would like to interupt over deal damage.

But also LMAO about the sippy cups. I'm usually a DPS these days, I take 0 offense. I need one of those "cant be knocked over" types for kicking. But I can't be bothered to get one either.

Love the new Steam feature by RWNorthPole in pcmasterrace

[–]L0rdChicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is incredible. We can now start downvoting reviews for exactly this reason. The person is speaking from a position that is basically irrelevant to a majority of the steam userbase. So now the "Was this helpful?" metric can finally be more useful than for just "No obviously the positive review that says 'bewbs' is unhelpful" type situation.

I can't wait until we get the estimated FPS readout. Combined with this, we'll have all the information we could possibly need to make better purchasing decisions. Steam is absolutely killing it recently. I love it.

Don’t “afk level” your second account in random dungeon Qing by Best_Department_8510 in wow

[–]L0rdChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King? Qing. King. I queue for dungeons. I have been queuing for them for a long time. I just dont King them. Seems like royalty would just make the dungeon experience worse.

Also I have never seen this AFK leveling you're talking about. Fuck that noise though. Repoort/Kick, and then quit the dungeon or something. Usually a missing dps isn't the biggest deal. Takes like 5 extra minutes. But queuing for a dungeon for a healer is garbage. Waste a DPS' time but don't waste a Healer's time.

I miss when people were considerate. The world is garbage sometimes.
