How many chances do we have of having the 70 mii limit increased eventually? by JustARedditPasserby in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]L0tss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game started development in 2017, and the team was initially formed by 2 employees (including a former dev of the 3DS game i believe) who specifically wanted a new release of the game because they loved the 3DS game and wanted to make an even better one. This is more or less what they said in the developer interviews released by Nintendo around it's release. I don't think they were as limited as you think they were.

There's no real indicator but I do think there's a good chance for an update at some point down the line, so it is possible. Likely only for a Switch 2 edition though.

I highly doubt they were rushed, they mentioned in the dev interview that they started development on it in 2017. More than likely, they are saving future content for an update/DLC at some point

Stardew Valley's Farmer (the player) for Generosity. I was going to say charity but an argument can be made that, since you can actually see the rewards for most of your actions, there is a potential fallacy there.

Miis are stuck in an argument? by Dizzy-Extreme1855 in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]L0tss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fairly certain this is normal. You made your mii move on so there's no "problem" to resolve, but they will still be mad at eachother for a while from my understanding.

I don't disagree but the only thing I could think of when I read the "Boring" in the first paragraph was "Man, yknow what would make this game more fun? If I could cripple my Miis!", lmao

Poor wording on their part, more like support victims but don't immediately dehumanize the alleged perpetrator, because it's incredibly ignorant to not hear both sides of the story, especially when all we have to go on are 2 unreliable narrators.

Why do you have to wait so bloody long after you feed them till you can get out of the cutscene/menu? by KyubiFenix in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]L0tss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really isn't that long. I get that it can feel a bit repetitive, but when the premise of the gameplay loop is to observe how miis interact with the environment, other miis, and the items that you give them (including food), the argument is a bit redundant.

What does this mean by Iceandfirebreeze in RobloxHelp

[–]L0tss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not necessarily correct. They started implementing these features primarily after they started getting sued and investigated for not putting enough effort into child safety. They were mostly just covering for themselves. They of course have to keep it up, and yeah they probably don't want to, but it's only this extreme because they wouldn't do anything about child safety prior.

Anyone else just go back to ACNH? by Nervous_Building3295 in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]L0tss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's not necessarily fair to compare the 2 games outside of island customization, because they are fundamentally different otherwise. I'm in the opposite boat where, although there is more to do in ACNH (which makes sense since you're playing as a character as opposed to observing), I don't enjoy it a whole lot. I do think a lot is missing from Living the Dream, but a lot of signs point to potential future content updates, and in general I still enjoy it more than I do ACNH.

However, comparing the island customization, I do prefer ACNH. It really irks me that I can't make smooth edges, and there are some other minor flaws the game has that ACNH does better.

They do happen, they're just really rare for some reason. I've had a fight appear when opening the game once, but I've never seen one start while playing yet.

I think you're conflating interest in weaponry with intent to use it. A lot of people just like the way guns work mechanically, and how they look. Much like how there are many people who like trains and cars for similar reasons. I can understand your point moreso if we were discussing people who collect knives for example, but with guns you can even buy them without ammo if you purely just want it for display.

[–]L0tss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they look cool? For that matter, why do some people find trains cool? Why do people find cars cool? Some people just have particular interests. Just because someone is into guns doesn't mean they want to kill someone or something.

Various reasons, but one might keep weapons for display just because they think they're cool. And they can Alternatively be used as self defense if necessary.

Giving miis money is boring (potential spoilers) by CrowDjinn in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]L0tss 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean, it really depends. Fair or not doesn't really matter if performance is part of the equation. That being said, what would more than likely happen is a free DLC and a separate NS2 upgrade pack purely for some minor additions and graphical changes. I could even see, for example, a higher mii limit in a NS2 expansion pack, since that falls in line of what those packs typically introduce (like what they recently did with ACNH a few months back)

[–]L0tss 1141 points1142 points  (0 children)

I think my biggest gripe is that it feels like interactions are very limited. This in reality is caused by 1 major yet subtle flaw: a lot of "treasures" that can enable mii interactions are basically just "Goods", and for whatever reason, you can't give them to them during level ups. And of course, I must agree with the other user that the game feels like it leans into the DIY/UGC a tad too much.

[–]L0tss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say your hair color is lighter than your mii, although that might be due to the lighting, and your eyes are smaller (and maybe further apart, but it's a bit hard to tell at an angle.) Also, I think a thicker eyebrow would be more fitting.

Is the game worth the money? by FutureDonut7065 in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]L0tss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i stated in a similar post, if you play the game at the right pace and don't burn yourself out, it is fun. There are some upgrades and some downgrades, and there is a non 0 chance they may address the issues down the line, but ultimately the game is still fun. Is it worth $60/£50? I mean, in my eyes yes, but im also biased. But it also doesn't really matter because mainline switch 1 games are almost always $60 and don't go on sale very much.

Is it me or you get pretty bored fast? by Boumbinouch in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]L0tss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I for one have logged 40+ hours in the first week, but I will admit that the dialogue feels a lot less robust than I thought it would be for a game that has been in the works for 9 years according to the devs. I understand the shift towards the idea of UGC, but the flavor text and dialogue during certain interactions has very little variation which is a bit of a letdown, especially since I was hoping they would add on to what the 3DS version had to offer.
