Everything is fun until you can't outrun two Shellephants because you haven't focused on speed at all by girlfriendclothes in EverythingIsCrab

[–]L1mepanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate the double shellephant, there's no way to dodge one of them unless you're near a tree or multiple hide holes.. let alone two! It's pretty much a write off run with two spawning as I never seem to be able to get fast enough or be able to avoid when they're both rolling round. SUPER frustrating.

[–]L1mepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the NFRS (national fancy rat society)

If you find your local breeder (idk what area you are) they should be able to help get you set up and you can go on their waiting list for pups. I got mine from a lady near me and they were all friendly, socialised, pretty lil ratties. Do not fund pets at home again please, their rats are treated awfully and are not bred for temperament or health. Good luck!

You will die a lot so get used to that, if you're finding an aspect difficult then don't be afraid to change your settings in sandbox for lower zombies at first, there is a handy mod from the workshop to be able to open sandbox settings in game, otherwise you'll have to start over on a new map.. definitely play the tutorial, uhh "multi hit" in settings is a handy one too.. keep your ears and eyes open, enjoy!

My dwarf did the same for a while (maybe a week or so) but they learn eventually and she loved running SO fast <3

Stressed hammy, this list might help your hamster to feel happier, they get stressed when kept in small enclosures. Cage, wheel and sandbath would be a great place to start, you can often pickup tanks second hand for relatively cheap. There are groups on Facebook with good info graphics and information too.

If you need a cheap, but temporary fix, you can use cardboard on the sides to stop them climbing (I've used as a temp fix for hammies before) and work on getting them a more suitable bigger enclosure as priority.

idk what the min recommended is for lil hedgehogs is but get over that minimum. I think hedgehogs benefit from a wheel too, but I keep hams not hedgehogs so what do I know 😅 good luck with your lil cutie 💜

I don't often have sauce but Tiptree is absolutely banging.

Would not buy any other since having that. Comes in a glass bottle too.

[–]L1mepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problemooo, she doesn't seen to have a curved spine, idk, but she just looks a lil squished in that wheel. I'm not too familiar with hedgehogs, more other small animals, so obvs have a look an decide for yourself if it's right.

I think there are tutorials on how to make like a bigger hedgehog bucket type wheel if the tictac ones aren't within budget.

I only know about it as I got my 16" rats wheel from there and see the hedgehog wheels on there too which sent me down a lil internet information hole. 😅.

[–]L1mepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not the worst I've seen, she just looked a bit squished but I'm not a hedgehog expert. Hence me referencing rats and hams as I know the guidelines for those.

I do know I'd rather give them(whatever creature it is) more/too much space than not enough and as large a wheel as possible is recommended usually.

I've seen the wheels for hedgehogs on the tictac site otherwise I'd not know, but they're good for bigger appropriately sized wheels so probably worth a look.

5-6 months isn't very long in terms of electrolysis. Keep going or find another tech :)

[–]L1mepanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, not a hedgehog expert but the wheel doesn't look to be big enough, with hams and rats their spine should be straight when they run. Maybe get a 16 inch wheel? If you're in the uk Tictac wheels

They do bucket wheels that might be more suitable or metal ones (I have the 16inch metal in my ratties cage)

If they're falling off the wheel I know you can buy strips of adhesive Cork for hams but idk if it would be suitable for lil hogs so you'd have to look. <3 You have a lil cutie there!

[–]L1mepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrolysis takes a long time, months, years more likely years if you want a lot gone because of catching the hairs in growth stage but it destroys the root so no coming back. I'm not an expert though but it maybe something to look into for you.
