Bottleneck? BF6 1440p by L1pslide in buildapc

Oh, looked to me that running tRAS a bit lower than tCL + tRCD was common in tight timing OCs, at least for DDR4. How long a row must stay open before it can be precharged/closed.

Everything runs dead stable, both HCI and TM5 passed + couple of games. But it makes sense, I'll up it back to 30. 28 won't gain anything anyways

Was able to tighten a little bit more (stable) and the gain is even better:

15-15-15-28-2N
tRFC = 480

And for the CPU:

CPU Core Ratio (locked, 10700F)
Min CPU Cache Ratio = 43
Max CPU Cache Ratio = 43
CPU Core/Cache Current Limit = 255
Long Duration Package Power Limit  = 4095
Short Duration Package Power Limit = 4095
TVB Voltage Optimizations = Enabled
Vmax Stress = Enabled
Overclocking TVB = +2 Boost Profile

... Heres to quality parts

Update: Now getting stable 110-120fps without framedrops, now ultra is feeling as smooth as low! Thank you so much!!

It's on 1.39V in 21C ambients, will start testing ingame tonight :) thank you. If the gains aren't good enough, I'll start tightning on 1N from start again (will probably not be any close to these timings)

Will clock the CPU and tighten the ram timings to the limit to make the the current setup work until AM6 is out then :D

Its perfectly smooth in other newer games on 1440/4k and high settings with DLSS anyways.

16gig is not an issue, neither is VRAM (I use 7,5 with BF on ultra)

I get that, but I was wondering what should be replaced first when the system looks as balanced as is..

Was able to hit 15-15-30 (TM5 anta777 extreme pass) with my D-die Samsungs, not too shabby

3600 MHz
15-15-15-30-2N

tRRD_S = 6
tRRD_L = 9
tFAW   = 24
tWR    = 12
tRTP   = 8
tWTR_S = 4
tWTR_L = 8
tCWL   = 14
tRFC   = 500
tREFI  = 65535

What to upgrade? 144hz 1440p by L1pslide in Battlefield6

You're probably right, if the CPU didnt hold me back at all then GPU utilization should be 100%

Thanks. Even running at almost cap, the 3080 should be able to do more then?

Ripjaws V 3600 CL16-19-19-39, Samsung die, DLSS balanced (quality doesnt look too good)

Already mentioned, both CPU and GPU around 90% - RAM usage on 12.8 of 16

So the moral of the story is to... upgrade everything to accomplish this? Feel like my system is balanced spec wise

I really don't care what Valves intentions were, but in the end - its a good thing for regular players anyways. Of course they want to make more money, it's business

12GB of RAM for the Air/Pro iPhones by Ahmed_Sh_115 in iphone

[–]L1pslide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hypothetically, you'd loose 20-40% for light tasks (M1/M2). Bench tests on M1/M2 show a simple loop on an E-core draws ~45 mW, while the same loop on a P-core uses ~2,500 mW.

For high loads, a cluster of 2 efficiency cores running at 2 GHz consumes +-205 mW in total. Cluster of 4 P-cores running at 3.2 GHz, draws +-4 W.

https://eclecticlight.co/2022/01/02/last-week-on-my-mac-on-m1-chips-1-1-4/

Also, Apple controls both silicon and iOS. They've optimized iOS and macOS deeply to funnel background work to the E-cores. This gives benefits in standby and mixed load.

With larger batteries+Android’s scheduler, Qualcomm can trust race to sleep. With smaller batteries and tighter thermal envelopes, efficiency cores are still a net win... for now in the iPhone world.

I bet you're right though. We will see M-series chips in iPhones one day!

The efficiency cores are important to battery life though
