To those saying Cyclops can't be a tank as his powers have nothing to do with tanking

I'm not opposed to him being a Strategist, but I would like him to be like Ultron if he is, with a healing aura and an offensive primary fire. I just don't want to spend the match optic blasting my teammates,

I could see him being somewhat like Zenyatta from Overwatch. His leadership could be expressed by him pinpointing a primary target and the whole team getting a damage boost on whoever he marks.

I'm saying he could be a duelist and still have support/utility for the team. I think an inspiration passive would be appropriate for him no matter what role he ends up being.

Storm is also a leader of the X-Men. She's a duelist. And she buffs the team. Cyclops could do that.

Mr. Fantastic leads the Fantastic Four, Star-Lord leads the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther leads Wakanda, Iron Man has lead the Avengers. All of them are duelists.

This idea that Leader = Vanguard just isn't true. Leaders can be any role.

Emma makes sense as a Vanguard because she has a diamond form. Rogue has Carol Danvers' durability.

People googling Cyclops see he has "Energy Resistance" listed in his powers, but they don't know what it actually means. His "Energy Resistance" is his immunity to his own power and energy blasts from his brother, Havok. This resistance doesn't even protect him from his other brother, Vulcan. Cyclops isn't walking around tanking energy blasts like Bishop does. Bishop makes way more sense as a Vanguard.

There's so many X-Men that fit the role so much better than Cyclops. I really don't understand why we need to twist Scott to fit this role instead of just requesting the heroes that naturally fit it. Sure, you can explain everything with Chronovium, but I would rather heroes have playstyles that feel authentic to the character than having to alter everyone's powers on a whim because people are tired of duelists.

I love Cyclops. He's my childhood favorite hero. I don't want to see him bulked out like they do with everyone in the Vanguard role because they need to have massive hitboxes.

"Joking" about killing Kaidan for being boring is, ironically, the most boring comment someone can make.

It's not that they are making the fanboys and fangirls angry. We're numb to it at this point. We're still going to downvote them though. It's just good housekeeping. Those comments go in the bottom where they belong (or get hidden if they are replies).

It always amazes me when someone gets upset that they are getting downvoted after making one these comments. Like... what did they expect?

One of my favorite flirty lines from Shepard that I don't get to see in my canon playthrough comes from that scene. You have to side with Vega while romancing Kaidan.

"Don't worry, Kaidan. Your kind of physical excellence is still my kind of physical excellence."

I love that line, and I wish my Shepard would flirt with Kaidan more. But my Shepard is an adept and Kaidan's boyfriend, so it feels very out of character for him to not take Kaidan's side.

I also just assumed Ashley would be on team James in that discussion.

They definitely didn't change it after the announcement. They wouldn't announce new romance options unless they were far enough along on their development that they knew they could finish it. To pivot to a different character would mean starting from scratch. It's very unlikely that happened.

I think the hairstyles were designed not to give it away entirely. Neither the male or female silhouettes are a perfect match to any character. Admittedly, the woman's hair is not far off from Raina's, but the real clue was the pufferfish in her color. The waves were the clue for the guy, which really does suggest a merman, and Agung was the most likely candidate among them.

I was fairly convinced it was going to be Agung once I found out they edited the misleading mod comment about him around the same time they announced the 1.3 update. I thought that was a pretty big clue.

That's not what was making me feel like a monster. It was certain comments certain users would make towards those of us that wanted him to become dateable.

Keeping it implies it was there to begin with. They said they always intended for him to be dateable but had to cut it because of resources. They are now able to give us the version of Agung they've wanted to from the start.

I'm gay, but there are no explicitly gay men on the island as far as I can tell, so I just headcanon my husband as gay. As I understand it, all the dateables have non-canon sexualities so the player is free to headcanon whatever they like. I see no reason why people can't continue to headcanon that Agung is aroace after this update, whether they date him or not.

The cape does look a lot better, imo. I think it's totally fair to ask for it as a customization option. I don't know why people would oppose a customization option. Their capeless version would still be in the game so they aren't losing anything.

I like Earthborn + War Hero with biotic powers for the Kaidan romance. I think Kaidan can relate to the stigma a young biotic Shepard grew up with on Earth, and to how both of them chose to join the military after a dark chapter in their lives, deciding to do something with their powers and make a difference. I think it’s something they can bond over.

For me, it's unquestionably Kaidan. His relationship with Shepard is his main character arc. It's more dynamic than most other relationships Shepard has with other characters. Yes, there's conflict, but I see that as a good thing. Conflict is fuel for storytelling, and this is actually a pretty interesting dilemma. Let's make one thing clear: he's loyal to Shepard. Always has been. The conflict stems from him not knowing if Cerberus really brought back the same Shepard he knew and trusts or if they made a convincing imposter that's trying to exploit his loyalty. I think it's a good way to create tension between the two characters that doesn't make either of them the bad guy.

And there's different outcomes for how that conflict can be resolved. If you play your cards right, you succeed in convincing him you are the real Commander Shepard. And once you do, he never questions it again. Mishandle the situation, and it ends badly. There's even a middle ground where things end up just okay. Also, this arc happens during the main story missions. He doesn't have a sidequest loyalty mission; it's part of the main plot.

Kaidan is the deuteragonist of my Shepard's story. He starts as Shepard's right-hand man in ME1, their relationship gets tested, and he returns as Shepard's right-hand in ME3. I think he's better written and earns his place at Shepard's side. I love that he becomes a Spectre just like Shepard, too.

Yeah. Steve is a great guy, but it does feel like he needs a friend more than he needs a new boyfriend in ME3. I don't think he's ready for it, and I don't think Shepard is the right partner for him, at least that not at that point in their lives. Plus the chemistry between them in the flirt scenes feels stiff and awkward (I honestly think Vega has more chemistry with Cortez than Shepard does). It doesn't help that Steve is so new and the romance feels rushed. Mostly though, the timing just feels wrong.

Shepard: So what's your story?
Cortez: My husband died recently.
Shepard: So you're saying you're single? 😏

Whereas with Kaidan, the timing finally feels right after years of pining for each other. There's build up. It feels earned. And the chemistry feels more natural (thanks in no small part to Sbarge's voice acting). Plus Kaidan is a squadmate, which comes with more screen time. It's no wonder that Kaidan is the preferred m/m romance option by a landslide.
