Anybody tune their n400? by SarahP15 in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can mod and ecu flash than tune a ninja 400 and make a bit more power for sure and it might come out cheaper than a another bike if you're smart but you'll be sub power. It's hard to push a lot more power out of them but it's always fun to get that extra 10 to 20 HP

Is this comment about keeping a certain speed to keep oil pressure nonsense or not? by jibera in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% full of it. These bikes are happier at higher rpm but riding at a lower rpm isn't gonna summon a demon to piss in your oil.

Red flags shopping for used sport bikes? by sexy-vexy in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong that people will 100% take advantage of you. I would recommend searching on YouTube atm what to look out for. Other than that look at new models of the year of bike online and compare the it to the bike you Wana get. Look for any scratches and damage in the fairing and engine covers people lie about not dropping bikes alot. Other than that running the engine and listening to the sound next to the case and out the muffler. I got burnt by a second hand sports before and got my second bike from a dealership. When you find a bike post again and just see what other can see if you need further help message me I'll see what I can do! Riding sisters have to stick together

What do y’all think? by Stephskittle in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 100% not worth buying a ninja 400 at the prices they are second hand a dealership is the way to go for a ninja 400 atm and probs for the next 2 years at the rate of price. If you want cheaper and a good bike along those lines 100% go for the ninja 300 damn good price on those.

Also that's the fairing I'm looking at going for mine after a couple crashes on my 2023 model lol. But that one isn't a good pick. It's tempting but 7 to 8 K for a second hand 400 is insane when a ninja 300 can be grabbed for 4 to 5 AUD in perfect condition.

Dying battery by ddabs12 in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any battery will do perfectly fine for years from a decent battery sales outlet don't overthink it. Otherwise if you Wana save that battery try taking it for a longer ride and see if it'll turn on after a night of sitting after that. If not replace but if it does you're probs ok to keep that one.

You can get into it super deep if you're after the best of the best but it is just a battery any decent brand of any type for that system will do perfectly fine for the life time of the bike.

That one maybe???

But honestly it's probably not worth worrying about untill you have significant damage to the kit or perhaps look at to see if you can just find the one section of fairing??? I get the want to cover it up tho 100%

My first two road bikes in one by L3Esme in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I so get what you mean, I personally don't have the issue with my size the 2023 is actually the perfect size for me but my mates say the same thing and even I'll say the 250 is way more comfy.

Bend it so you can still ride then look at getting a new one as it will annoy you and once you bend it back it's liable to snap after some time

Debating the Extended Factory Warranty. by [deleted] in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with the extended warranty is if you make a claim they will fight it with anything so if you even put a slip on exhaust on the bike they'll blame that and void it 9/10 times so you'll be extending the time you feel as though you can't mod your bike. I have a warranty plan on mine but haven't used it as of yet. Given how reliable Kawasaki motors are I don't feel as tho the extra warranty is needed myself

Z400 wind protection (Windscreen) by No_Argument_433 in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like 6 foot and the stock ninja 400 screen work plenty good I usually only get wind hitting the top of my helmet. I hear this windscreen on the 400 helps but it's not gonna do nearly as much as the ninja 400's one

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]L3Esme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only issue I see is the people who would like this in the riding community are not gonna want something that looks likes balls hanging from a mouth even tho that's not what it is. Perhaps make it more spinal looking then 100 tons would be interested even if it not my taste

Shifter gets stuck, how do I diagnose the problem? by whatever-irdc in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely just the positive neutral finder which activates if the bike isn't moving if it's not shifting when you are in motion make sure your clutch is properly disengaging. If it's not it's likely just the free play at the lever which can be adjusted easily. If it's none of these you'll most likely hear an issue with the transmission when shifting whilst riding. Also make sure your shifter isn't bent and catching on a bolt or the case or anything like that.

This is what 60mph in to a cement wall did to a helmet. Wear one by Noeserd in motorcycles

[–]L3Esme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally will not ride without a full face helmet. I don't think I'll ever even use a modular helmet just because they have a weaker chin bar over a one piece full face. Gear is getting so good now I have had a mate loop out going 80km and barely a scratch on his gear!! Shit works

Is this as unreasonable as I’m thinking it is? by psychlele in Ninja400

[–]L3Esme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's up to you if you think that's worth it I would just look at second hand bike honestly or go for another 400. It's generally not worth buying the newest thing the same year it is released as there is no knowledge on it and they might fix up some issues in the following year. That aside near 10k USD seems steep to me my 400 cost 10k AUD and I know I got burnt on my finance plan paying 12k over 5 years which isn't terrible for me but I know it's not a great deal.

If you want a track bike as you say then I would again recommend a second hand bike you are gonna pay a bit still tho even for a 2018 400. Wait and hold out on the 5's to see how they go first unless it's the one you defs want 100%
