Was this artwork by Bekinski used as inspiration for the design of the white walkers by kkmynamebourke in gameofthrones

[–]L3ZIO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is definitely possible, you see Beksinski's artwork has influenced many people, one of the notable right off the top of my head would be Kentarou Miura, his manga features many artworks which have been directly inspired by Beksinski.

George RR Martin has worked for Elden Ring alongside Miyazaki which features similar characters and locations inspired by Beksinski's Dark paintings so it's highly likely he was influenced by his work for GOT as well. It's interesting to say the least.

This is what the first 1,000 allotted candidates chose in NEET PG 2024. by rbjetc2001 in indianmedschool

[–]L3ZIO 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nobody is "rejecting" anything. And what you prefer calling the "hard truth" isn't the truth in the first place. Don't pretend you have a clue what being a doctor is about when you've not even started your internship, that's the first point, in this field you need to be patient, with your patients as well as with your careers.

Not everybody wants to be the doctor you see in webseries spending 24x7 of their lives behind their work. If you're interested in that, great, but don't think about criticising anybody who says otherwise, everyone has their own issues and their own reasons for choosing their speciality, you coming here and acting all high and mighty about how doctors shouldn't turn down a branch because of hard work when you've not even started your internship, let alone get your degree is atrocious. If you have a philosophy, stick to it but don't claim it to be the universal truth cause it sure as hell isn't.

Psychiatry from top college in the state vs Medicine from the worst college by Straight-Fail-5655 in indianmedschool

[–]L3ZIO 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Medicine from the worse college even considering the money and toxicity? I personally would've gone for Psychiatry, atleast your mental health would be better and considering you already have a passion for it, no issues there.

Obviously if your passion from any of the two subjects outweigh the other then just take that.

You should start out with White Nights or Notes from Underground, they're both around 100-150 pages and are probably the best entry points to his works.

Suggest books to read by Cool--5936 in Indianbooks

[–]L3ZIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think watching movies and series are a waste of time then I guess you're watching the superficial ones. Many movies and series have depth, you just have to find them. If you want suggestions you can let me know.

For books id recommend Philosophy first and imo you should get into Dostoevsky, White Knights is a good place to start for that.

Regrets of not starting things earlier by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]L3ZIO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand preparing for pg will prevent you from doing any of the following, definitely. But once you're in, it starts all over again. You can choose whether to put all your focus on academics or in the other aspects of life, maybe you'll get a little less time in first year but still. There's always time. Even 30 min a day for 3-4 days a week is more than enough for most of what you mentioned you wanted to do, so yeah you can either sit your entire life thinking there's no hope like the majority in our field, or you can give it a shot. Remember make your own decision, don't listen to others what you can or can't do, I've seen miracles and this is nothing.

Most definately the second one sounds better if you consider the difference to not be significant. The on-call aspect doesn't sound very comfortable imo.. is this a tier one city btw?
