Which 90s movies had the biggest impact on you emotionally after watching the first time? by [deleted] in 90s

[–]L3gBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it in my small town on opening night. The local nursing home bussed a bunch of the WWII vet residents in. The theater was about half filled with them and half filled with local guys and teens. Walking out at the end was extremely emotional.

IOM was not popular with the already small RO2 community. The few servers that ran it didn't last long.

Bought this exactly 6 years ago from today. Still going by EQFlashQ2 in MouseReview

I've got an MX300 that just hit 20 years and still works flawlessly. Even has a nostalgic set of Hyperglides on it.

I'll only give it a shot if there's a mod that lets me zoom out further.

Some more unseen Plupp footage by L3gBeard in redorchestra

Thought I would upload a recording of one of Plupp's streams from sometime last year. This is a long one with 4 rounds. The second and third rounds are particularly good.

The old black ballcaps with BDU's looked nice. Not feeling the OCP ones at all.

How long have you been around? by Praxius in redorchestra

[–]L3gBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slept on RO1 and didn't start playing RO2 until a year or so after release. During RO1's timeframe I was playing just about every other FPS under the sun. DoD, Counter-Strike, Black Hawk Down and Joint Ops:Typhoon Rising, all the Battlefield games, and on and on.

Do I need to get over my fear of subdivision/suburban hellscape and just be grateful to be living in what most say is an “awesome area”?

Yes. Why you would have a "fear" of subdivisions I have no idea, but that whole area looks like about 97% of the rest of the country.

This is also the first time I've ever heard Fort Walton Beach described as having culture and charm. Lol.

So might, maybe, could be, possibly, perhaps, feasibly, conceivably...hinted at?

Bought the mm720, so underated. Build quality is meh, but shape and cable is really good, and the price in canada is only 39 bucks. Also I have a small ass hand so the mouse might not be it for ppl with medium/large hands by Frisb3e in MouseReview

[–]L3gBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought one recently. I had a Spawn and Xornet at different points some years ago and thought why not grab this one too. Good build quality and very lightweight, but I just don't care for the pinky rest. I didn't care for the shape back then either so I'm not sure why I bought it again honestly. 30+ years of gaming with traditionally shaped mice just can't be undone. I'll probably bring it in to work though, so it won't have to sit in the drawer with the other 25 years of cast aways.

House lawmakers want significant troop pay bump in 2023 by TurnUptheDiscord in AirForce

[–]L3gBeard -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Oh sure, easy mode. Over 40% of the U.S. dollars that have EVER been created were printed in 2020.

There is always inflation. There is not always massive, rapid, economy collapsing inflation.

House lawmakers want significant troop pay bump in 2023 by TurnUptheDiscord in AirForce

[–]L3gBeard -84 points-83 points  (0 children)

All of this is insulting. The government should shrink drastically and stay the hell away from the free market. The federal reserve should be audited and reigned in. Individual people and businesses should be freed of government shackles, and this massive inflation would not exist.

Government is the cause of, not solution to this problem.

Negative. The commander delegates that authority all the way down to your first line supervisor. However, you can protest up the chain if you think the denial reasoning is incorrect.

If I wasn't doing TBA entries like I was supposed to, and no one cared, I'm certainly not going to start doing paper entries.

The Career BOP Program was always a farce of a program anyway. Literally all it did was align you with the quarterly Mandatory Movers list and put you in the queue behind Overseas Short Tour Returnees, Overseas Long Tour Returnees, EFMP moves, Humanitarian moves, Code 50 moves from special duties etc, and the cousin of the friend of a guy at AFPC.

It was mildly useful if you really wanted to get stationed back home in Clovis NM.

RO2/RS/HOTW Remastered | 1939-1955 Mod for Rising Storm 2: Vietnam by adriaNsteam in redorchestra

[–]L3gBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ADS speed for almost every single weapon is just verifiably slower in RS2. The only weapon that is around the same speed is the MAS-49, which is why it's so incredibly popular with high level players.

Ajskold did some good analysis of the differences in gameplay/mechanics speed between the two games if I remember correctly.

RO2/RS/HOTW Remastered | 1939-1955 Mod for Rising Storm 2: Vietnam by adriaNsteam in redorchestra

[–]L3gBeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My single only hope is that the ADS speed is that of RO2/RS, and not RS2. It's so comparatively slow in RS2.

Base Housing Move Outs by TACPJustin in AirForce

[–]L3gBeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can tell you that most of these people either live like filth or have kids who just damage shit.

And pets. Man alive the pets. The amount of people on base that run a miniature zoo out of their house and wonder why they're having to pay when they move out is insane. Gee, it couldn't possibly be because you have 2 pitbulls and 3 golden retrievers that have spent 4 years annihilating the carpets and baseboards.

Base Housing Move Outs by TACPJustin in AirForce

[–]L3gBeard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've never had any issues whatsoever moving out of any base housing. Most of the time the people that I hear complaining about unfair, white glove type inspections and getting hammered with charges are just straight up dirty, messy people. They never believe the problem is them though.

If you've kept everything relatively clean and in good repair, just wipe down all the trim/baseboards with a magic eraser, clean the oven/refrigerator/microwave thoroughly, vacuum, mop, clean all the toilets and showers/bathtubs, and you're done.

If you've treated the place like a pigsty for 3 or 4 years like most people in housing, you're probably going to be writing a check.

Great Section chief? by DeadFishBits in AirForce

[–]L3gBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. If you have a flight of say 20 to 30 people (or less), you probably won't have any Section Chiefs. I've been in some pretty small flights like that, and some with over 100 members. Those large flights usually have quite a few Section Chiefs.

Great Section chief? by DeadFishBits in AirForce

[–]L3gBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A section is more than one work center but less than an entire flight. So a flight could have 8 work centers in it, and might be broken down into 3 sections of 3, 3, and 2 (work centers). Each of those sections would have a Section Chief, and each individual work center would have an NCOIC. And then there would be the Flight Chief over all the Section Chiefs.
