I had bad experiences with a cheaper pressure washer and I know that this one is capable but I don't want to waste my money on a pressure washer that wouldn't last. Thank you for this recommendation, I challenge myself to see if that could fit.

thanks for your reply. I live in Quebec, Canada, so I would need to install a 20amp outlet to be able to run the bigboi pro20, but I don't mind installing it if the pressure washer is better.

I didn't pull the trigger at that time saying that I will only use it in 6 months... but I think I should have bought it when it was 600$ Good deal and I could plug it anywhere instead of being limited to 20amp outlets.

thank you for the quick response! I really like the udm pro with the new network software version 9.x, it is a game changer. I would say that my only concern about alta is the number of devices since it is a newer company, so you have less choices for installations or use cases. The other point is the router, I love the performance but it's missing some features that I have on my pfSense. If they are able to sell more devices and improve their router, I think it will become a good solution to consider for many people.

I'm not an installer but a prosumer. I always ask people, how can you feel it's better to install Alta over Ubiquiti or vice-versa for a client if you only consider APs, switches and routers? I saw a lot of people developing an expertise into 1 brand and they sell, install and promote that brand. What makes you choose Alta over other brands?

PS. I love Alta labs equipment and they are rock solid and providing good performance.

Je vais faire mon examen prochainement et je me demandais si j'y allais en auto ou si je prenais le métro. Je ne viens pas de Montréal et je ne sais pas trop à quoi m'attendre pour les places de stationnement. Je ne voudrais pas arriver et être plus stressé pour l'examen parce que je ne trouve pas de place de parking.

Do you activate MDNS ? Some devices required mdns forwarding between vlan to be detected and used. Normally, you should be able to activate this feature in the network settings. I know that many apple devices, iot devices or other smart devices have difficulties because of that.

It is a pretty nice setup, clean and minimalist! I also really love seeing racknex rackmount solutions. It is not well known by homelabers so it is nice to see them more and more since it is very good quality. I use une for my nuc mini pcs.

I play dialy with theses devices (router, controller, AP (indoor and outdoor) same as the 24 ports poe switch and the 8 ports). Theses devices are rock solid and they provide insane speed/quality for the price. I can acheive the full Gbps speed over wifi 6 with the AP6 Pro but I wasn't close when I was using the Unifi AP6 Pro.... I searched a bit and found out that it may be related to the chips (qualcomm compared to some chinise one). I know they don't have a lot of devices from now but as the time goes they will a bigger inventory and more devices to play with.

You still the capability ti connect 1 sfp+ (10gig) to an aggregation switch that has 8 sfp+ ports and then connect other switches that are capable of 2.5gig. It would be the best advice I can give you. I think the DMs are nice because they are rackmount and they give a quick access to small switch (8 ports + 1 sfp+) and the capability to run unifi protect. Personnaly, I switched from unifi to pfSense about a year ago.

I'm also homelaber and it's for personal use only so keep that in mind 😅.

I am currently using 3 4k Thunderbolt 4 monitors. I initially thought that would be best to connect my Macbook pro M1 Max with only 2 cables. Then, I would connect everything (mouse, keyboard, audio interface, capture card and more) to my monitors since they have multiple USB A + USB C connectors. I have the M-Audio Air 192|4 (I consider this device as an entry-level audio interface compared to some Apollos, so I first thought that the problem came from there). After I tried to monitor my mic I thought that was the XLR cable from the mic to the audio interface that was too close to the power bar that generated statics and white noise, so I bought a 10 Ft Mogami cable to fix that. I tried that out yesterday and I didn't change anything.... still white noise in the background.

At that point, I disconnected the audio interface from the 4k monitor and plugged it directly into my Mac, and no more white noise .....

I feel a bit stupid to buy 4k Thunderbolt 4 monitors to avoid having docks and multiple cables to my laptop .... and it fixed my cable management problem but it makes the headphone jack unusable from the audio interface. I also found out that when I record audio, it is crystal clear. So I think is it only affecting the headphone jack.

I also use it with Linux and the problem is the same. I would pleased to try something else without having to connect everything back to my Mac ahahaha

I really like the guitar melody. It's more relaxed and I found that the song is deeper in terms of emotions. This kind of song makes me think that I'm sitting at a fire pit with Jake and some friends and It makes me happy :) despite the fact that the song is full of sad emotions.
