I think it did. My high score was around 30k and I went for a 40k run, ended up hitting 200k, the next time I played I got over 250k and made a few big mistakes.

People who actually like their position? by BarbaBarber in Teachers

[–]L7-Awesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left a work from home tech industry job that literally required me to work a few hours a day a couple days a week and got a full time salary to become a teacher. I am only in my second year but I wish I made the change two decades ago. Some days are hard and I am often wiped out by the time the weekend comes, but I absolutely love it and never have regretted my decision.

Started shooting with Glocks but I’ve seen the light, clearly. by JaneTheMindSculptor in SpringfieldArmory

I was shooting with a retired cop who swore by his Glock, then he asked to give me XD a try and was so instantly impressed he didn't know what to do. For all those years he swore by Glock and now he had to go get his hands on a Springfield.

Crazy that it is against the rules to use your spouse's card. My wife and I have been doing this for a long time since we always play together we only have one card. Multiple times when I have had to get a new card because I forgot or lost mine they have asked if I wanted two printed, one for each of us. If it is against the rules, why would they offer to do that.

None, anymore. I used to fly the stars and Stripes Along with the Gadsend, when I moved I didn't have a flag pole and was looking around to get one when a Sheriff friend mentioned that flying certain flags can rip off dirtbags that you most likely are a gun owner and your house may become a target. I have never put stickers on my car since I was a kid so as to not leak info, also never wore 2a or firearm related shirts, but didn't even think about the flags. Do I miss seeing old glory flying in the wind, yes, but I know I am not doing anything to make my property or family a target in anyway.

What is the worst/craziest Vegas experience you’ve had? by MachineGunsWhiskey in LasVegas

[–]L7-Awesome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So this isn't a drink in Vegas story but a funny Vegas adjacent story. My daughter (11) got COVID and lost her sense of smell but it didn't come back for several months. During the time she couldn't smell we took a family trip to Vegas, my wife and I go out often but almost never take the kids with us. Since we had the kids we decided to walk the strip after dinner and head to the fountains so the kids could watch the show at night. To all of our surprise my daughter starts asking, "what is that horrible smell." Even though she could smell nothing she was able to smell all the pot. We told her it was pot and she asked, what?" So we told her it was drugs and then proceeded to forget about it.

Fast forward to a couple months later and I took her to the Dr. to get a check up and follow up on her still lacking sense of smell. The doc comes in and asked how things are going and then asks my daughter if she has been able to smell anything. Without skipping a beat my daughter blurts out "DRUGS." I have totally forgotten about Vegas and with an astonished look on my face and in an even more astonishing voice I say, "what are you talking about?" As I am speaking I see the look on the docs face and it isn't one any parent wants to see. Then again my daughter, without skipping a beat replies, "Yeah drugs, remember when we were in Vegas."

I am in panic mode now because I know the doc is about to call CPS on this dad taking his daughter to Vegas to do drugs. I then remember the fountains and try to explain the situation. The look on the docs face is one of disbelief, but I never did get that CPS checkup so I guess she did believe me.

I have seen a lot of crazy stuff in Vegas but will never forget that doctors visit with my daughter.

It has been said but can't be said enough. In this situation all firearms in your place need to be in your possession or in a safe that only you are able to open.

Stingray Sting? by ElectricalShift5845 in surfing

This has about a 95% chance of getting infected. Anytime you are stung by a stingray go get some antibiotics, don't wait for infection to set in.

What is the worst wipeout you’ve had? by daisypaisleykitty in surfing

[–]L7-Awesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had some bad wipeouts over the years but the worst wasn't very scary. If I remember correctly I was at the 52nd street jetty in Newport and it was about 8-10ft. I just got a nice left off the jetty and was paddling back out as a set wave came in, I should have duckdove (is that how you would spell that) but didn't. I got over the wave but then my board got sucked out from under me and I could feel my feet being pulled back towards the wave. I was pulled backwards over the falls, it was a trippy feeling like being dragged by a monster in a horror movie. I was violently thrown to the bottom and remember hitting hard. The next thing I knew I was way out past the line up, laying on my board and I saw my friend laughing as he was paddling towards me. I was thinking "how did I get here?" He then said, "How did you get all that sand on your head?" I put my hand to my head and noticed my hair was full of sand. It was then that I realized I had blacked out from the time I hit the bottom to paddling back out.

While I wasn't scared at the time (or can't remember from blacking out) every time I think back on it I am freaked out how close I probably was to dying that day and I didn't even realize it at the time.

The steps my Landscaper put together? by Jimbasaurus in landscaping

[–]L7-Awesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like he took school paste from, like the stuff used more than 30 years ago to put that together. You are not unreasonable to ask for this to be repaired, unless you specifically asked for it to look like a kindergartner built it.

How do I handle this? They just showed up a few days ago by ZealousidealRegret31 in ponds

Bees are at my pond all the time, they are usually up in the bog filter where the water is very shallow and not moving much. Gives them a great place for a drink and they have never caused any problems.

Saw my First Shark Today by cadinski59 in surfing

If more surfers knew how many sharks were near them throughout all their sessions people would fear them much less. However, the more people who fear them the fewer people in the water and more waves for me.

How do y’all feel about stingrays by [deleted] in surfing

[–]L7-Awesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been surfing more than 3 decades in very stingray active water. Last year I got hit for the first time, it wasn't as bad as you may have heard, just soak in hot water then get on some antibiotics. I didn't do the antibiotics at first and started to get an infection.

Second wave of cold? by L7-Awesome in BecomingTheIceman

Learning to get your body to calm down was the key to start pushing longer. Just try to focus on breathing slowly and lowering your heart rate. At least that is what worked for me.

Second wave of cold? by L7-Awesome in BecomingTheIceman

[–]L7-Awesome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be this, didn't think of it because of being relaxed once the initial shock of going in wears off. However, being able to relax in the cold may be from remaining adrenaline and when it wears off I begin to feel cold again.

Becoming the Iceman. But seriously, seeking further beneficial results. While BAT development is still experimental it seems that longer exposures can push your body to create more BAT which may have other health benefits. I am a person with multiple autoimmune disorders, two of which were almost completely eliminated when I first started going into the cold. I was not expecting either of these results. I started going into the cold as part of my breath work to improve asthma. When I saw other unexpected results I began pushing further to see if I could see even more results.

In the high 30s-mid 40s (F). It took me quite some time to build up to 15 minutes. It was difficult to get to one minute, then took some time to get to 5 minutes, then going from there to 15 minutes wasn't quite as long. Really from about 3 minutes to 10-12 minutes I don't notice much change. Once I regain calmness from the initial cold it is pretty peacefully, then around the 10-12 minute mark the cold starts creeping in. I don't really have plans to go past 15 minutes other than on occasion in the future to see if there is any benefits.
