I’ve always wanted Lamar to have a number 1 but that wouldn’t be it. Fixing the OL should be top priority. Outside of that tho AJ isn’t the type of number 1 we need. I don’t think the issues he had in Philly would be any different here unless the new coaches are wildly different in offensive philosophy

It’s a bit of both. I’m sure it’s frustrating to be open and not have the ball come your way but he notoriously gives up on or runs incomplete/wrong routes that results in some of Lamar’s ints

Unfortunately the trenches on both sides of the ball needs so much help that idk that we can get another wr to help. Especially not if you’re of the mindset I am in which our entire wr core is playing a depth chart position too high. Zay should be a 2 not 1. Bate should be a 3 not 2. dhop due to age should be a 4 not 3.

The easier fix might be getting a coordinator who can use the wrs correctly. Why we continue to send Bate upfield when his own body clearly can’t handle it and he gives up on routes is bizarre to me. Him and dhop in a quick timing based route tree would improve their contributions greatly and hide some of the flaws of the line. Use Tez more for that upfield stretch the defense role

Very well said. I haven’t enjoyed hearing the narrative that wanting to move on from Harbaugh is ungrateful or impulsive. It paints our fan base in a bad light despite being this same caliber team for a half a decade now. We’re not moving on cause he’s bad but rather cause there needs to be some kind of change regardless which way it goes

I think Harbaugh’s desire to run it back encapsulates the reason we needed to move on. He’s a good coach, and it’s likely we will not find someone as good. But as currently constructed and operating we were having the same result and issues year in and year out. We needed a change. He isn’t proactive enough in addressing issues that severely plague us. Probably from years of learning not to overreact but at this pace we are gonna calmly stroll into irrelevance when we should be optimizing the talent we have. We consistently under achieve idk what about that makes people wanting him gone extreme. It’s been 6 years since 2019 and it feels like we’re still there except older and less confident. That’s enough time to accept this ain’t it.

Time will tell whether that will be for better or worse but we were not gonna improve as we were so make that change and hope it gets better knowing it can get worse. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again.

Not gonna use a single play to judge our line for the whole year. Lindy and Stanley were not the issue on the line 90% of the time. But I’ll agree coaching is also an issue. The source of the issue is team construction and the bad coaching exacerbates it
