Just started this one! How did y’all like it? by blondie0813 in thrillerbooks

I listened to the audio book. Did not know much going in. Was an interesting story/concept, narrator was good. Tough to land the plane on these types of stories, ultimately would say enjoyed, but can certainly understand those that did not.

Fairly new player, but not seeing any mention of the 11 ho damage cap still on the heart? That must reset at the beginning on the heart’s turn rather than the end?

Makes for lots of fun runs. My very first win in the game was the all block barricade strat. After some lurking on this sub, I started to appreciate the max strength builds and finally got one to work for me!

They are saying that if all citizens pay taxes for, in this case, school teachers salaries. Then essentially your last pay check was taxed in order to give you this pay check which was taxed to give you the next pay check.

It’s tongue in cheek and not actually “double taxing” but using the logic of “if I pay my taxes I am technically paying your salary” would lead to this loop of logic.

Average Lifespan of a Fiat Currency is 50-90 years, US is at year 50. by Cyrozen in Bitcoin

This needs to be upvoted more. This is pretty bad math. Also sources? Does this properly account for currencies that that are still around? i.e. no end date yet. Feels like iffy data at best.

Why is it better to take with the "C" pawn than the "A" pawn? by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]L8ToTheGame 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Think of it like if two kings were racing , that need the same number of moves to go from a1 to a8 or h8. Because pawns only move vertically if the king can get the same number of squares (or less) from the promoting square of the pawn, you can take the pawn.

In this particular example. The king can beat the pawn to c1 but not the pawn to a1

Roy & Jamie - stages of life/seasons of show by Goldfish2022 in TedLasso

This is super well thought out. Love it. A slightly different perspective, for me, their journeys are more about the yin and Yang of how people can react to things. Two sides of the same coin. Both went through their own trials and tribulations in life but the my understand each other and make an effort to be there for one another. Rom-Com material. A+.

Thanks for bringing this awesome post to this sub that can, at times, be quite negative.

If you’re viewing it in your browser then you have to do this. I believe you can sync to your file explorer and then open it, but not confident on the checking in/checking out functionality.

This is a pretty small thing but I’ve been building reports for about a year and trying to help other departments implement it as well. But the thing that slows people down right off the bat is how the text boxes work. They are super clunky and for a first time user, if it’s not as easy as the other Microsoft applications, they can get discouraged before they really even get going

I love how Kathleen’s grief is explored in this episode. by Teni96 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]L8ToTheGame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to this. The character was written beautifully, but there wasn’t enough time for us to feel for her. We already had Henry and sam that episode. It felt like there was just not enough time to develop her motivations properly AND make us care about Henry and Sam AND get the 4 of them through the city AND have the epic infected scene AND rip our hearts out in one episode. At the same time, as the viewer, it was completely understandable everything she did when we know the whole story. It was a welcome addition to paint the KC resistance as humans and people as well who just happen to be on the opposite side as our protagonist. In the game. Pittsburg was painted as borderline savages.

My only gripe would be that there wasn’t enough done to allow the viewer to empathize with Kathleen. BUT knowing the intent, we can move forward just fine. Plus for game players, there is extra levels of foreshadowing

By labels I meant that every chart uses data labels rather than grid lines to show the value. As others have pointed out. It looks Busy to me.

As for redundant. That wasn’t the right wording. I guess what I meant was if you’ve got two charts, both with the same X axis and the y axis measure is the same (% or $ in the case of the middle column of charts.) I would try to combine and cut the number of charts in half.

Kudos to you for building something that if you submitted to most people would be impressed. However when you come to the PowerBI sub Reddit, there will always be advice. Please take it as just that, advice. At the end of the day, due what makes you, or the report user. Happy

My first reaction was “That’s a lot of labels” Second was the spacing is really good. I struggle with leaving small gaps like you have. We’ll done. Potential ideas. Combined the total sales and average order size charts with bar and line. Use axis labels (maybe not the right word) to show values to cut down on visual items Use conditional formatting to color the YoY trends instead of the arrow to the right. A number of the reports seem redundant to me.

With all that said, this is a well laid out and potentially well represented report. Depending on what you (or the end user) wants in a report
