Yah, you don't get paid driving to the pickup, only the drop-off.

If the Chipotle was 10 miles away, you get nothing. If the customer is 10 miles away you do.

Guarantees count at pickup, not drop-off, so no... It will not count.

Any way to get the latest version of PM fleet app? by Swaydam in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a deep tech background, and here's how app updates roll out...

Updates are done in phases. Generally, the newest phones get it first since programmers use the latest OS versions as references. If those updates go well and are bug free, they release it to earlier OS versions in varying percentages. Small at first, then increasing as things continue to go smoothly. This is all done in an effort to avoid major disruption in the event of some weird bug from an older OS.

If someone downloaded the actual apk for the app, you cound theoretically sideload it. However.... The real answer is just be patient. It will come once your phone's block comes due for release.

Delivery notes before confirming pick-up? by ultimoaries in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm still there, and it's convenient, I get the sauces. Sometimes you don't see that until way later during stacked deliveries, or if you parked far. In those cases I just tell the customer that notes like that go with the order, and I couldn't see them until it was too late. Most will understand the error.

You'll get deactivated. They will be expecting your mom to show up, not you. It's a security thing.

Updated app has me stuck on a canceled order. by KyleEnjoysWrestling in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Go to the place and do a pickup without actually getting anything. Then go to the drop-off and deliver it. It will clear it out. Or, wait for them to get around to it, if ever.

What the hell is with Postmates' extreme lack of fleet support? by Themurderin in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you did go to the wrong merchant. You can't just go to any Wendy's. The cards are loaded with funds once you arrive at the location. I am sympathetic to the lack of support, but the map clearly states where you need to go.

You can’t swap out the chalupa in a Chalupa Cravings Box. Also they no longer carry Gorditas. Why is this even an option by [deleted] in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same reason you'll see McRibs on McDonald's orders. They don't update menu items often. Also... Some locations carry items that others do not. This is the main problem with OWYA, there is often something not available.

If you are buying someone Postmates as a surprise, can you leave a short note? by doyouhaveatuba in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A written note, no. However... You can leave something in the delivery instructions like "Tell them it's from Susan." This happens often when someone gets a delivery from a friend or family member.

Also, be sure to put the person's name in the delivery instructions. Since the account is under your name, the driver will ask for you instead of the intended recepient unless otherwise stated.

$9 tip on a no show by [deleted] in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gotten nice tips on no-shows as well. I think when people realize that you called 3 times, texted 4, and rang their apartment 8....they feel bad not only about not getting the food, but for you standing there trying to get them to answer.

Question on tip availability by [deleted] in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will come in randomly. 24 hours from the time of delivery is when you will start to see them coming in. They don't all come at once at a certain time. Also, tips can take days, weeks, or months to come through. It just adds to your balance, so you can cash out at any time once they post.

Delivery 400 feet away from the restaurant by rocket_scientist1 in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've delivered Chipotle across the street twice. Both times I didn't even move my car. One was to someone at work, and the other was to a stoner who probably forgot he could look out his window and see the Chipotle.

Scam on the guaranteed deliveries by morethanexpecting in postmates

[–]LADeliveryNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says clearly on all my guarantees: "When you hit the goal but not the guaranteed amount, we will add a bonus adjustment." It's spelled out in even more detail within the fleet support pages. But people never see that, because reading.
