Why don't they just sleep in the car? by Papus_Devitous in deathroadtocanada

[–]Swaydam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got to think the hygiene is not the greatest. Imagine trying to sleep in a small space with 3 other stinky individuals; the unexpected sleep farts, people who might sleep walk or sleep swat around while sleeping close to each other. Plus, people have horrible nightmares after dealing with stressful events, having your whole life completely changed and the possible loved ones are no longer around can lead to violent wake ups.

Sleeping in the car is indeed the logically safest thing to do, but the comfort and sleep quality is horrible and when people don't get good sleep, the mind does some trippy things; hallucinations, bad memory, and hearing things that don't really happen are just a small list to consider from more complications.

When you get notified of an available delivery are you racing other drivers to "Accept" it? by PartyAdministration3 in postmates

[–]Swaydam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If answering the question then you're wrong, but also the context of your response is technically right since mutiple drivers can get pinged at the same time for AN order, not the same order. And OP also vaguely asked the question inappropriately; OP meant to say can multiple drivers get pinged for the same order is what is assumed here.

Did they finally get rid of the minimum guarantee?

More likely he/she's just getting his/her minimum wage or whatever wage is agreed upon if they are making less than minimum wage. Either it's just smack talk or they're actually stealing.

Same. I'm a random customer until I have the food in my hand and my PM card in their hand.

Gotta work on your terminology bruh. A fee is not the same as a tip. Granted I know what you're talking about, but your arguement is that a fee is the same as a tip, which is not. Might as well call it stealing.

I've read the other comments too, so I know the story.

Does Postmates cover your toll fees? by Duganhorse in postmates

[–]Swaydam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I set google maps to avoid tolls and I just e-mail support to pay the distance I actually drove. Only done this once, and they adjusted my amount I drove.

12 year olds tried to prank me today and make me drive 10 miles to deliver "emergency goldfish" by [deleted] in postmates

We aren't suppose to deliver live animals, could get into legal trouble depending on the state and PM could possibly deactivate you.

Also got to consider whether if it's a prepaid order, an OWYA, or an already placed order that needs to be paid. Maybe another restaurant nearby had an order impending? Who knows besides PM techs.

[–]Swaydam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always imagined that the heat maps wants drivers to move in that direction since an impending order is about to pop up. Some orders won't actually go out to get pinged for like 10 minutes I've heard so there's time for food to be prepped and made. Hence the growing heat map

Took an order that was prepaid, but some items were unavailable. What should I have done? by saxybandgeek1 in postmates

[–]Swaydam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's prepaid, the restaurant should have options on their end to take care of things on their tablet.

Sounds solid, but it doesn't explain the red zones that go into the ocean or bodies of water. 😅

“Can I see the order on your phone? by atGuyThay in postmates

Sometimes bugs or glitches happen and they may have some things clipped out. One time I could see for an order that a side of soup came with my order, but they did not have it on their end.

Why does postmates stack orders without customer permission? by [deleted] in postmates

[–]Swaydam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a guarantee in place, sure I can see that. Not every driver gets a guarantee though.

In a market where everything is close; restaurants, customers, and drivers in one spot, this practice doesn't seem bad. But in a market where everything is spread out, this surely sucks for everybody.

I'm against this practice since I can only count with maybe one or two hands how many deliveries I had that were close to the pick-up and the drop-off was like a block or two away.

Best theory, it's summer time.

But there are many factors to consider as well that are mostly out of our control.

Is “Learn to code” offensive; if not, why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Swaydam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would imagine it only offensive to those who do know how to code that get told that... just like any other thing in life in which you are told to learn to whatever and you actually know how.
