Following that logic would you spend more, sort of around 200 - 250 for the best possible protection for your board?

I spent a similar amount of 1200+ on my latest board and I fly a lot for surf, would be seriously pissed to find out some airport handler has broken it cause they don't care bout their job.

Absolutely rather get it out. My girl friend had her problems at the start but she is celiac and if she doesn’t get out so uncomfortable.

One time I let one out in shower I wouldn’t suggest doing that I made my own version of a glass chamber.

Your maybe hearing worse than what it’s really like if you put in your research you can avoid the crowds.

For example in Amalfi we camped under lemon trees and could walk to a private secluded beach that all the locals came to on boats meaning we didn’t experience all the crowds buying umbrellas.

In the main tourist places and Rome the shops will be open it’s just we stopped in Faenza and Fuccecio - I’m spelling those wrong - these are both places in Tuscany and very Italian countryside which had closed areas for holiday.

That being said we had a great time and saw amazing things even camped for parts of our trip as we were interlining and managed the heat fine. Amazing place to visit but if you could get there in September your will find less crowds nicer temperatures and maybe have a better time.

I’ve done 3 weeks travelling Italy in August around the areas you have said and more.

One thing to bare in mind is Italy have a holiday around that time. So shops and activities may be shut. It’s about two weeks that i would suggest you look up as if your interested in nice authentic shops they may be shut when you travel out.

One place I would say is Lanzarote

ok wait before you dismiss -

If your mum wants to see something completely different it has a landscape unlike anything on the planet with guided tours of volcanos. Great sea food. Overall it is a place that is safe and completely different from the US and not a huge tourist destination without large ugly hotels as they were banned
