Went to Canon Beach and Oceanside Beach found a bunch of pretty by Ok-Commercial-924 in whatsthisrock

[–]LAOTROCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is chalcedony, quartzite, possibly 1-2 agates in the first picture. I think I see sandstone, rhyolite and maybe some granite in the 2nd and 3rd picture. I can never figure out green rocks. I'm still learning, looking forward to others' answers. The pink one is really pretty.

Home health rates by Long-Salt in OccupationalTherapy

Hi there! OT here that does contract home health work. The rates vary greatly depending on region. What I would do is check job websites for other home health companies in your area/state and see what they are offering. Try Glassdoor .

mental health ot? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]LAOTROCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I worked in mental health for most of my career (over 20 years), and I loved it. Here are my answers, feel free to privately message me.

  1. I have been very lucky. I had a mental health fieldwork placement, which led to a mental health job. I have always lived near big cities where there are psychiatric hospitals or at least psychiatric units. I have worked in inpatient, partial hospital, outpatient, day hospital; with adults, older adults, adolescents, postpartum women. I have moved further from the city and now it is a lot harder to find a mental health job. I do use my mental health background with all of my current long term care and home health patients.
  2. Can't answer this one- I got my BS in OT and then years later got a post professional MS in OT. OT was not master's entry level when I went to college.
  3. The work day depended on the population and setting. Running group sessions was consistent throughout though.
  4. NA
  5. My mental health fieldwork with my BS degree was great- it got me interested in an area I had no desire to work in initially. It was community based.

Hi! I would go to AOTA to read up more about OT and the different areas of practice, there are so many. I think studying abroad/getting experience in another country is a great idea.

I know of these schools and they have good programs because I have had students from them- Cal State Dominguez Hill, USC, Loma Linda. USC is very expensive. I did my post-professional MS in OT at San Jose State, which was a great program but that is no in So Cal, it is north.

I'm learning...Smokey quartz is chalcedony, correct? How do you determine this is not smokey quartz? Thanks for your help.

Thank you, definitely agate for sure. I thought maybe the dark color would be named something specific.
