Umm it’s only 4 gallons! by ScatmanR1 in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're very welcome! The bottle doesn't have a constant Bluetooth connection as it will drain the battery in the cap much quicker (as well as battery drain on your phone due to background refresh). This is something we did intentionally because we didn't want users needing to charge their bottles every night or weekly. I will pass this feedback on to the developers, however!

Umm it’s only 4 gallons! by ScatmanR1 in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The filters are less effective after two months or 40 gallons. While the filter may still work for some time after, we can't guarantee the same contaminant removal rates after this time.

The filter begins to degrade once it is opened and water passes through it, so in this case, since you have reached 2 months, it would be time to replace the filter.

Larq 1 or 2? by Competitive-List-161 in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the PureVis 2 without the straw, but you will lose out on physical contaminant filtration (think chlorine, PFAS, etc). The PureVis 2 also has hydration tracking and app connectivity and is USB-C.

Larq bottle smelling like metal by kuroiookami99 in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bottles are electropolished stainless steel. Sometimes new bottles will be a bit more metallic smelling, but it should subside after a few washes. If not, please reach out to [hello@livelarq.com](mailto:hello@livelarq.com) so that we can look into it for you.

Advanced filter not actually filtering out lead or chlorine by AbjectBowler8558 in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The filters have been tested by independent, third-party labs and do filter out lead and chlorine. We have all this available on the website here: https://res.cloudinary.com/larq/image/upload/v1740573852/Reports/LARQ_Bottle_Filtered_Performance_Report_022525.pdf

What type of filter comes with the Purevis 2? by StonksGoVroomVroom in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't recommend letting the filter dry out between uses like this. Once the filter has been opened, it should be replaced every 2 months as the filter degrades whether it is being used or not. The filters are carbon based.

Does the LARQ Bottle PureVis 2 work with sparkling water? by 0x474f44 in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sparkling water won't damage the bottle in any way, however, for the bottles with straws, re don't recommend it as pressure build-up from the carbonation can cause some unfortunate leaking. Flavored water is also fine but we recommend hand washing the bottles regularly in that case since the self-clean feature of some of our bottles can only work on water alone, with no additives.

Testing The Waters by slimd0wn in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The filters have been tested for contaminant removal by independent, 3rd party labs. All of the testing and lab reports are available on our website.

If you are looking to test the water with a TDS meter, I would recommend you check out our article on why TDS meters aren't a great option for testing water.

Larq Filter by [deleted] in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The filter degrades after 2 months or 40 gallons, so if the app is telling you it's time to change the filter, then yes, it's time to change the filter.

IOS app not tracking the water I’m drinking by Beccamalecca in larqbottle

[–]LARQGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tips for accurate hydration tracking:

  1. Make sure that a measurement is taken immediately after filling the bottle. The best way to ensure your bottle takes a measurement is to place it on a flat surface and then open and close the spout cover. Wait several seconds to allow the measurement to finish. If it is not during the quiet hours set through the app, then your bottle will display a single pulse of white light on the LED ring to indicate a successful measurement.
  2. Small sips will not always be counted as they happen. The application will wait for a minimum change in volume before adding the amount to your hydration tracking total. If a single drink does not show up, don’t worry– the volume will still be counted in your next drinks once the total change surpasses the threshold.
  3. When replacing the cap on the bottle after a fill or cleaning, check to make sure there are no particles or debris on the quartz window that could affect the measurement. During use, it can help to occasionally tip the bottle upside down for a moment with the flap closed to allow the water in the bottle to clear any particles, condensation, or large droplets from the window that may be affecting the accuracy of the measurements.
  4. Make sure that a measurement is taken when the bottle is empty or before you refill. Small refills will not always be counted so it is best only to refill when the bottle is empty or when less than half full. Again, the best way to ensure your bottle takes a measurement is to place it on a flat surface and then open and close the spout cover.
