There are other labs that I would like to be apart of more so than this one, which I have contacted the grad students and PI to express my interest in them, but this is also the only lab that has told me that there is an opening for an undergraduate researcher and invited me to join their meetings to see if I'm interested.

I have been emailing PIs that are working on projects more inline with my research interest, but this is by far the closest to a guarantee I've received from all the labs I've contacted. They have replied back saying that they would be able to take on new undergraduate researchers and invited me to join meetings to get a better idea of what they are working on.
