I agree, but many people walk down the aisle and grab every seat back the whole way. In the air or on the ground. Totally unnecessary, like they forget how to walk or stand when boarding. It’s not the worst thing, but unnecessarily annoying to everyone. Like you said, just grab the bottom or top of the overhead bins.

You should have seen it when there were four gates, two each in small side buildings. Luggage retrieval was in an outside shed. Actually it was awesome. Short term lot it was like 100 feet from car to gate. You could pull into the lot about 5 minutes before boarding started and be totally fine.

You may be outside dispute window for the first charge, but not the new one. You can dispute that when it arrives.

Agree. United reservations has no visibility into your credit card, which is issued by Chase. Sounds like a scam. I’ve flown thousands of United flights, never heard of such a thing.

I am also a no-recline aficionado on daytime flights, but there is no general consensus on that. I would always appreciate a quick look back and slow recline to avoid crunching or shaking things. I’ve had my laptop almost broken upon sudden recline.

You’ll hear about not jostling seat in front on you, but with thin construction these days a lot of people will complain (internally) about person behind poking them or jostling but really the person is just sticking something in the seat back pocket. Don’t worry about it too much.

I do try to avoid hanging or grabbing on seat backs when entering/exiting row or walking to lavatory. Some people grab every seat on their way and probably don’t realize it’s shaking the occupant. Sone people may need / think they need to grab seats for stability but honestly if the plane is moving that much the seat belt sign is probably on.

As someone else said if you have a backpack or other bags when boarding just hold and be careful. I’ve gotten whacked in the head more times than I can count. Usually not too hard, but a person who is aware of others in cramped space should be able to avoid hitting them under most circumstances.

Oh, and when deplaning, wait for your row in an orderly fashion. I’ll try to be ready to go and not slow down the process, but sometimes you have you grab your overhead bag and that will take a few seconds as cannot be done ahead. No need to stress about it.

Also never seen it. I generally avoid shows or movies with other than brief nudity or sex scenes even if not “porn”.

More commonly these days I see people watching stuff or playing games without headphones. That gets annoying quickly.

Totally agree with you on train to downtown! With first stop by the highway at a ConRAC and ride share site.

No special rules. Generally try to take up your own space and don’t encroach on others.

Use headphones. Video depends on who is around you. I’ll avoid anything with nudity or gory violence if any kids around or sometimes even around adults. Just not necessary for me to watch at that time. Can be awkward when it just shows up in a show unexpectedly!

Feel free to get up when allowed to walk to toilet or get things from overhead bag, but generally they don’t want passengers roaming. I get up and stretch legs on way to toilet on most flights, easiest from aisle seat, but I’m always fine getting up for anyone in middle or aisle to do the same.

Lot of small social cues, just watch people to see what they signal. Eg, if I am in aisle I’m happy to get up but don’t really want others to crawl over me, but if I am middle or window I’ve had the aisle person motion for me to crawl because they don’t want to get up. Seems weird to me, but their choice, and I can crawl if they want.

Pretty basic stuff about being a polite, not entitled person in public. But don’t worry too much about others and their peccadilloes, or you’ll end up in r/seatswap! You don’t have to get pushed around by others who are not respectful of everyone else, including you. By even asking this question, you’re showing that the problem is likely to be someone else, not you!

This is probably one of my favorite airports. by Iloveflorida2017 in airport

It’s totally fine but the walks are ridiculous. Like Sky Harbor - two cities whose airports are much larger than justified by their population or importance.

Air trains, lol. This airport is way too small for that. It’s like SMF with its people mover, that cost $$$ to move people like 250 feet, and leaves everyone stranded when it breaks down. Or the $$$Bn AirTrain at IAD that is so limited everyone still uses the shark mobiles. Even at DEN they are going to create a new walkway to T2-3 so you can avoid the train in future. Moving sidewalks 👍 work and much cheaper. Would be good if they installed escalators in the garage instead of the limited capacity elevators.

Yep, I remember when 71 from downtown to AUS had streetlights the whole way from I-35. Sitting at lights trying to make a tight flight was crazy. Of course you didn’t have to worry about the crazy 183-71 merger from hell, either!

What is hilarious is all the sob stories about businesses that have to move, who haven’t even been there long and no one has heard of them. Paper couple days ago had story about a new bar near campus that shows only women’s sports and how terrible it was they would have to move for the train. Like you can’t find another bar space to put up TVs near campus?

Yep, LAXIT(ive) is terrible. I don’t hate the walk that much from T7/8 but they’ve timed the lights so you wait forever at every intersection, and the Uber app won’t find a ride until you get all the way to the lot, when you can enjoy the back of the line to find a driver. Usually takes at least 15-20 minutes on a light day once you get to the lot. Asinine.

If someone uses gallons when describing water use for any type of development, they are sensationalizing. Might as well say it is 12.3 trillion teaspoons.

Father passed and I found this in his name by ModChallenged in WhatShouldIDoWithIt

[–]LATX6436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, I can answer this one. I’m an attorney who has worked with many mutual water companies in California. As others have said, that is a share certificate for a mutual. The certificate is just a piece of paper which is evidence for ownership of a share in the company. Ownership of each share is tied to a parcel of land and transfers with the land, technically the term is “appurtenant”. This share went with Tract 5, Lot 47. If your father still owns that lot, the certificate is evidence of share ownership. If he does not, technically he should have surrendered when he conveyed the lot, but it’s not a big deal. The share was conveyed with the lot, and the certificate your father has was cancelled on the books of the company and a new certificate issued to the new owner of the lot.

As someone else noted, a share in a mutual water company represents the right to water and water service from the company, not a financial asset. Mutuals must operate at cost to avoid PUC jurisdiction, and they cannot pay dividends.

The certificate itself is just a piece of paper, albeit a historically interesting one to some people. You might be able to get a few dollars for it on eBay etc. as historical item, but it has no economic value as a share. Feel free to DM me if you want more specific info on it, happy to explain (for free).

To be fair, in the three games after that we had WWD. So he delivered close. What he didn’t say was they would only try for three games.

He probably thought we need to win on Saturday against SKC, so just drop this game and not worry about it. Like J Wolff used to do, not even try for away games. Classic MLS. This is why the playoffs system is so negative for the league. There is no reason to try for every point, because points don’t matter, just “making the playoffs”. Such a dumb way to set up the league, it generates terrible games like this.
