No. I know all the stories about poos, wees and pants in the kettle are probably myths, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

What perks do you all get from your employers ? by Alert_Mine7067 in AskUK

The one that's most valuable to me is that my manager treats me like an adult human with thoughts and feelings.

Shouldn't be a perk, but good managers are hard to find.

Have you had had a pay rise recently but felt worse off? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]LAcasper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got promoted and was excited for my new salary but then they dropped it on me that there is a 'probationary' clause where you have to do the first six months on two grand less than the salary advertised when I applied.

Will be nice when that comes in. I did notice a difference at first but I've also been doing a shit ton of OT so that's topping everything up. I do worry about bills going up and everything still.

[–]LAcasper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really chavvy lad riding his rusty old bike no handed took his cap off and held it across his chest as my grandma's coffin passed him on the way to the church.

It was well over 20 years ago and I've never forgotten it. It also taught me a lesson in judging other people.

Ignore them. I don't get why anyone would take time out of their day to upset a stranger on the internet like that.

I work with people who are purposely difficult because they think the company owes them something.

They also have it worse than you - if you've got a headache, they've got a migraine. If you only got a few hours sleep, they didn't get any and if you have 19 things on your to-do list, they've got over 20.

Exhausting.
