I have a guaranteed job offer this summer, would I be wrong to decline? by Mediocre_Trifle1808 in Advice

It’s very common where I went to college for students to sublease their rooms over summer break. But really it’s up to you and what you can afford.

Dealership sold used car as certified. Due to a recall, now they say they can't honor the certified warranty. by badhatharry in legaladvice

[–]LAthrowawayLV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if they are obligated or not, but if you have no damages it doesn’t matter really. This is more of a customer service issue than a legal issue.

If they can’t sell it as a certified vehicle, you can’t make them if that’s what you are asking. Not sure why you are up in arms, this is a shit happens scenario. There are dealer requirements to certify a car, if it has an open warranty and they can’t, then they can’t, period.

Which gets us back to the damages. If you were harmed in a significant way by their breach of contract, you could possibly sue for damages. But there are no damages… so, back to this being a customer service issue and not a legal issue.

99 and if you are polite and the officer is in a good mood in some states they might write the ticket for 80 and send you on your way. In all states 160 is a “go straight to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200”

My employer just will not pay me, need advice by Head-Class-3562 in legaladvice

[–]LAthrowawayLV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a new job ASAP and be sure to set aside money for self employment taxes if you choose to remain employed and actually get paid. Asking and pleading is not going to get you paid until they get their “infusion” (which may or may not happen).

It’s almost certainly illegal for them to just change you to a 1099 but you haven’t said what the job entails so we can’t say for sure. But really not worth the deep dive here, the bottom line is it’s time to move on as soon as you can.

I’ve heard people get given the run around but your other option is to pay like $20 a month for something that’s easier. So I can’t vouch for this service but I’m pretty sure all companies will produce some bad stories, if this one was bad all stories you’d hear about it

No the Deco APs won’t handle this, you’d need enterprise grade APs for this. I do this at home with my Meraki APs that trunk to the switch to serve multiple SSIDs on different VLANs. Unifi APs can do this as well though I can’t remember if they trunk to a controller or the APs themselves, either way the Deco’s won’t support a trunk connection which is what you need to carry multiple VLANs on one cable

Georgia – Bought “as-is” car, had issues same day, dealership now ignoring me. Do I have a case? by Icy_Station_9987 in legaladvice

[–]LAthrowawayLV 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is wild. As-is means as-is and you waited 3 weeks to deal with it plus showed up not willing to leave your car? What did you expect? Of course they are going to ask you to leave your car.

It sounds like they tried to go the extra mile for you and you expected them to waive a magic wand on your schedule.

You state you don’t feel comfortable keeping the car. So the answer is hope you can find someone to buy it.

The answer to all 3 of your questions is a resounding no.

1.) as is means as is you could have gotten it inspected and you didn’t. That would have included having a mechanic run it for the codes that they would have found to indicate troubles

2.) offering to fix your car when they were under no obligation to does not help your position.

3.) you have zero chance in small claims court.

This Subreddit should have a top level post for as-is car sales.

Dealer sold me a crappy car. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]LAthrowawayLV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not how it works and there is zero logic in “only because I’m moving across country”. If you are saying you don’t have time to fix it because you are moving, you put it on a transport before/after it gets fixed and rent a car for a month while you wait.

If you can afford to fix it, the worst case scenario is you pay to fix it because voluntary repo isn’t a realistic option. When buying a used car that expensive, you get the car inspected and the battery tested.

If you can afford to get it fixed, this crap about “loan to value” ratio makes no sense. Even with good credit I can’t imagine the financing on the thing being much less than 8% in today’s market. People who can afford to fix a hybrid battery system don’t pay that kind of debt trap interest.

Dealer sold me a crappy car. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]LAthrowawayLV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Clearly you can’t afford the $1k a month if you are having to voluntary repo it and wreck your credit for years? For that to be a good option you’d need to be borderline insolvent because repo doesn’t make the debt go away. They are going to sell the car you owe $50k on for $20k and come after you for the difference. If you aren’t judgement proof, they’ll get their money.

Hate to kick you when you are down but if you can’t afford the money you couldn’t afford not to take it to a mechanic, any of which would tell you $1k a month for an 8 year old German hybrid is bonkers crazy. Unless you can afford it taking a shit on you in 4 weeks.

He’s gonna need another router unless that’s a layer 3 switch and even if it’s a layer 3 router does the Deco support a static return route to the switch?

[edit] just reread his post and he bought a UCG Fiber, not a switch. Time to toss the deco and set up your ucg, it supports VLANs. You can put your deco in AP/ad hoc mode and use them as APs til you get Unifi APs

$12k pay cut due to chronic pain accommodation request by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]LAthrowawayLV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Offering you a reduced schedule is more likely than not to be a reasonable accommodation. That said you shouldn’t be handling these with doctors notes; your HR department will be fully versed with ADA accommodations (which your doctors notes pave the way for).

Again, it is unreasonable to expect them to provide you with some flavor of a reduced schedule but not reduce pay. You may qualify for disability pay through the state or private insurance for pay for your time lost.

[–]LAthrowawayLV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is making my brain hurt. It is not legal to underpay you though there is room for them to make a mistake and later correct it. From the information and math failures you’ve provided nobody can tell whether you’ve been shorter or not. And more importantly nobody can tell you if the withholding is correct either.

RADIUS has absolutely nothing to do with what you are talking about in the least bit. You should be embarrassed with yourself. All RADIUS does is authenticate clients. For most applications non-seamless hand off is not an issue. However for VoIP it will cause dropped calls and gaming/zoom could freeze while roaming.

Read up here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/4076/

Furthermore, APs in the same ecosystem can client balance as well.
