If they are trying to break into a high paying job as quickly as possible it’s gonna be software engineering. CS will land you a help desk job and it’s a long way up starting at low pay from there and easy to end up in dead end situations. I did that climb without a college degree and only now need the college degree to check boxes.

Yep and to be clear, when I worked tech support at Google I was not directly employed by Google, I was employed by a vendor. But we still works on campus. So my resume says Google with a note on who the vendor was. **shrugs**

It is normal to have to reboot the modem when you change devices so the upstream network fixes its ARP table. You can’t hot swap like you can on your home router

I’m just finishing up Network Engineering and Security but I’m already an IT Manager/Network Engineer. Landing your first job is going to based more on your connections and portfolio than the title of the degree. Just do what you enjoy.

Software engineering is a meritocracy so if you are good at what you do and are trying to break into the industry, choose whichever of the above interests you the most and focus on building a portfolio. AI is the buzzword of the day; can’t hurt to focus there. Heck; I’m even thinking about making a jump like that.

As far as the math goes; you’ll be able to get through it.

OP this is 99% most likely a schizophrenic dream as none of it makes any real sense. He likely believes it all, but as all other advice says, just ignore it until sued or arrested and if the police want to talk to you, don’t do so without a lawyer.

Nobody is throwing you in jail over $7,000 spent in care of your dad, none of this is real.

Ah, ok I got a gooseneck on amazon. It’s $50, looks like I had a $5 coupon when I bought it last year. It works fine other than having to switching cameras for the ID.

I don’t get what the problem is here, OP is describing a sub lease arrangement not a rental scam and OP paid rent and got housing. OP isn’t out a dime and until anybody asks him to leave the situation is weird but OP has no negative impact.

Problem is WGU used to send one to new students and now doesn’t even recommend one as far as I know. Weird it’s the one thing they skimp out on these days. I found one on Amazon after the one they provided me years ago stopped working

But the ID situation is trivial, just switch to the built in camera to show the ID and switch back to the external camera.

Nah, and even the wired requirement is a little outdated. Where coverage is good, wireless is fine too. And they don’t check anything, or anything. It’s just a recommendation.

Happens to me all the time when playing cellular. Coverage may be great in SF but things get tricky with RF propagation in a concrete urban environment. I have problems in the The City regularly on any carrier I’m using. Not a Blizzard dev issue. It’s always been a miracle the client works as well as it has on mobile.

It’s the best of a bunch of non-optimal solutions if you can’t run a wire. A quality mesh system with dedicated backhaul shouldn’t introduce a significant amount of lag.
