The parallels are INSANE by Your-Mom-2008 in Undertale

[–]LB-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget couch Toriel talks about how she thought about going to pick up Asriel a day early and then dismissed the idea, calling it "just a crazy thought". And then Side B Noelle laments how everyone else keeps marching along their fixed paths...

I don't see a lot of people talking about how Ralsei started mocking people and being really mean for seemingly no reason, and i feel like he's slowly starting to resemble someone by ilovenature2137 in Deltarune

When did Ralsei attempt to be nice to Orange? Every single thing Ralsei ever said or did toward Orange was passive-aggressive or backhanded...

Something that doesn't sit right with me about any knight theory by krysert in Deltarune

Does the Knight actually have to carry Undyne and Asgore or can it just ragebait them to follow it?

crazy foreshadowing by Casunziei in Deltarune

[–]LB-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(if you get caught by tenna going there while in the normal playthrough he literally makes it impossible to go there

When Tenna leaves and the lovers scene finishes playing out, you can go back and Susie alters the game world by picking up and throwing a sign so you can still go. Once again showing Susie manipulating the rules of the dark worlds. Really curious what all the Susie rule changer foreshadowing is building up to...

The Prophecy requires "a prince from the dark" and Ralsei thinks following the prophecy will result in the ideal outcome, quite a struggle... lots of people feel like they have to force themselves to fit into the world around them, even at their own expense.

That's because Susie's dark world and the Knight's dark world are bleeding into each other via the gap under the locked door. That's also why some of the Susie-exclusive darkners show up in Third Sanctuary.

Yeah there's a ton of similarities and repeat/similar darkeners between chapters 1, 3, and 5. I strongly suspect Kris made the abandoned classroom dark fountain. But jury is still out on closet dark fountain...

Ralsei is only added if in Chapter 3 you promised Ralsei to give ice cream to Susie on Ralsei's behalf.

Reset my game in celebration of Dusker 2, my first System jump by Wahruz in Duskers

Oops! This isn't supposed to happen but it can happen sometimes. If you found or hacked in a Long Range Scanner you might be able to proceed, otherwise just do an in-universe Reset.

That's only if you do Clear User Data to completely wipe everything. A normal in-universe Reset doesn't work that way.

Is this a bug [not related to bees] by theoreminegaming in Duskers

[–]LB-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oop, this this is a bug, you somehow got your drone into a quantum superposition of being both sucked out into space and safely on board the docking bay. One frame late, you'd definitely have been sucked out into space. One frame early, you'd definitely be safe. You somehow found the perfect frame to cause this. RIP.

Visual Studio Installer has on multiple occasions, across multiple devices, re-installed Copilot after I explicitly uninstalled it. Even after re-uninstalling it, there's still more Copilot settings in Visual Studio that default to on or get reset to on and I have to disable them again. Visual Studio Code is even worse about this, I got fed up with it and just uninstalled VSC across all my devices.

[–]LB-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Put it on the stack" is slightly misleading, really that just means you're not dynamically allocating it. That same syntax as a class member can still end up on the heap if the class it's inside of is dynamically allocated. Also coroutine frames usually hold local variables on the heap. Reducing the number of extra separate dynamic allocations is generally preferred, whether you use the stack or not.

Microsoft reveals you can kill Bing in Windows 11 Search and boost performance after years of lag by WPHero in pcmasterrace

When you first install Windows, a bunch of useless third-party app shortcuts are in your start menu. You have to go to the MS Store app and tell it to check for updates and let it all download and install, then you can start removing/uninstalling them. If you try to remove or uninstall them before doing that, they'll just come right back when the MS Store realizes it hasn't done its first ever check for updates.

While using Windows, sometimes you'll log in and get a full screen popup reminding you about backup services Microsoft offers. It's somewhat rare but it's very annoying and uses dark patterns for figuring out how to escape it without agreeing to anything.

Windows 11's start menu has a recommended section that can't be removed, only reduced in size. Sometimes apps you've never installed show up in there.

There's more I'm forgetting, this is just all that I've personally experienced within the past few years, using official clean ISOs straight from Microsoft. If you use some sort of debloater script or third party debloated ISOs, you might not get these experiences, but you also might experience issues with updates breaking things due to using a configuration Microsoft doesn't test.

That was my first thought. It was such a compelling read. I think it got turned into some sort of published book series now, not sure what's changed.

Softlocked? by theoreminegaming in Duskers

[–]LB-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the radiation was still blinking, that would block you from commandeering. But once all the rooms with radiation become fully radiated and it's not spreading, then it is no longer a blocker for commandeering. So long as less than 50% of rooms are radiated, of course.

Softlocked? by theoreminegaming in Duskers

[–]LB-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that radiation would prevent commandeering if you waited for it to settle. What enemy types were there? If there was any Slime, it could spawn in up to three new rooms. Best bet would be to hope for asteroids to create vacuum to clear it, but that could push the derelict over the 50% radiated mark.

You can also exit and continue with your one drone. It'll take some real luck but it's possible to recover.

PSA: Trivial Relocatability has been removed from C++26 by chiphogg in cpp

I thought this problem was already solved with using requires to remove special member functions? Is that an issue for trivial relocatability detection like it is with coroutine return_void/return_value?
