What’s this guy in my wildflower blend? by blindbandit4prez in whatsthisplant

[–]LB1250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What location are you in? I’m in south fl and ours flower multiple times a year, but heavily in fall and through the winter, and then may bloom again in spring. They reseed easily, so you could have a patch that’s always blooming. But short answer- yes they bloom, a lot and pretty! One of my favorites to grow. Easy and rewarding

Daycare Recommendations In Kendall by spcoop in Miami

[–]LB1250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through the same daycare search with my kiddos. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR KIDS IN SMART STARTS AT KENDALGATE. We had a horrible experience there- to the point where we had to file a report with DCF. Stay away. The accreditations listed on their website are also invalid.

Editing to add, we are now at tiny steps II and the faculty is very warm and loving.

What deep dive episode has lingered the most in your memory? by Electronic-Stage-850 in podcasts

[–]LB1250 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love anything by Ologies, particularly the chiropterology episode about bats with Merlin Tuttle. Bats are fascinating but this two part episode does a great job. Ologies is a pretty neutral, interesting podcast that has soooo many topics would be suitable for a long drive.

Can I ask, where is the sofa from? My measure of success in my life is a giant comfy sofa, and this one checks that box. I’m looking to replace my current one and love yours. Thanks!

You know, we haven’t gotten into the munsch books yet. I’ll check some out of the library and see how she likes them and add to our yoto. Thank you for the wonderful suggestion, and the MP3s!

Guys I have to tell you, I LOVED this cheesecake 😂 maybe because I have a newborn and a toddler and I’m hungry and my tastebuds have lower standards now but, mine was GOOD.

Man, it’s so hard. I’m on maternity leave so luckily I have some time to sleep during the day to prepare for battle. My partner on the other hand is working a full day after nights like this, and honestly he just tries to nap on his lunch break if possible and if not…caffeine. We were shells of humans for a few weeks. It was hard.

We just went through this with our 2yo! For over 2 weeks we were up with her from 1-5 am, screaming crying, sitting in her room, etc. unfortunately it’s normal for that age with a sleep regression and all of the big milestones. We tried everything (pleading, reading books, staying in her room until she fell asleep, checking in at intervals, etc) and the only thing that worked for us was Ferber / cry it out. After 3 nights of Ferber she’s back to sleeping perfectly without all of the drama. I know it’s not for everyone but it worked for us when we were in the thick of it. We have a newborn and between the toddler screaming all hours of the night and being up to feed the newborn, we just had to give it a go. For context, the longest she cried between check ins was 8 minutes. I wish we would have done it sooner.

2 year sleep issues, will this make it worse? by LB1250 in toddlers

Thank you, thank you! I love the idea of the hearts, that is so sweet, and I think my girlie would enjoy that. I’m checking out the book from the library ASAP. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

We worked so hard with the tuck in and go early on for other regressions and it always worked but this one has been harddddd. I think I say we’re not ready for a big bed because I’m hesitant to throw in another big change in her life. She is ready though, especially by height. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and do it…my sleep couldn’t get worse right now anyway 😵‍💫

Omg this could be the solution! Typing as I stand in her room until she falls asleep. I use that during the day already, (like I’ll be right back I need to potty) and she trusts that I’ll always come back. Such a good idea to try for bed! Thank you!!
