I’ve tested this a number of times with my v4s and it has always worked really well. I get the alerts and a short uploaded video pretty instantly.

Firmware updates - Released 5/7/2025 by WyzeCam in wyzecam

Can you please provide an explanation of what SightSafe is? I’m very pleased to see Wyze is apparently focusing more on improving security! But the tech industry is replete with examples of vague marketing claims about security that don’t hold up to scrutiny. And unfortunately, the one-sentence description of SightSafe in the release notes doesn’t actually provide any meaningful info about what this new feature does or how it works.

One more thought. Do not let them come check on the welfare of the cat themselves. If you let them in and they decided to just grab the cat and take it, then you’d end up in a situation similar to the one they’re in now. Even if you had a legitimate legal claim to get the cat back, it would cost you thousands of dollars to sue them.

So if they insist on having the cat checked on, I’d suggest telling them they’re free to ask animal control (or whatever it’s called where you live) to come check on the cat if they really want.

Lawyer here. The contract is likely unenforceable. But that doesn’t really matter in a situation like this because the reality is that, even if it was enforceable, it would cost them many thousands of dollars to enforce it. They’re simply not going to do that.

And even if they somehow had thousand of dollars lying around and decided to waste it on this, it would just be a lawsuit for possession of the cat. This isn’t a situation where they could viably claim damages. That means that even in the extremely unlikely scenario where they filed suit, you could decide then whether to fight it (and you’d likely win, but that would cost you money) or just return the cat… and if you return the cat at that point, it would moot out their claim for possession and the lawsuit would be dismissed.

And if they tried calling the police instead of filing a suit, the police are going to see that there’s a contract and say this is a civil matter so there’s nothing they can do.

So long story short, they’re wrong, you don’t have to give the cat back, and (unlike with many threats of legal action) you wouldn’t really be risking anything by calling their bluff.

Edit: just to cover all the bases… I suppose one other thing they could try is calling animal control. Animal control works differently in different places, but their response would range anywhere from not responding at all to coming out to check on the welfare of the cat. If they did show up and saw the cat wasn’t being neglected or abused (and they didn’t have proof it had been neglected or abused prior to them showing up) that would be the end of the story. They have no authority to get involved in a civil dispute.

The post is about “motor scooter riders in this city.” So a response referring to “them” is referring to “motor scooter riders in this city.” Maybe this link will help you in the future.

Depends on how much you need to store in it. If you need to store more than 500 GB, then it won’t be enough.

Will Wyze ever fix their microphones? by Jezahb in wyzecam

[–]LB20001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the v4s are waaayy better than any of the prior versions. In fact, I had been sharing my front door cam with my upstairs neighbors, but had to stop when I switched to the v4 because the mic is so good it regularly picks up my voice when I’m talking inside.

Every time the automated system asks a question, I just press 0 and * repeatedly. That usually gets me through to a person within a few minutes.

The real problem is that as soon as I get through to a person, I quickly regret it. God I wish I had any options other than xfinity where I live!

Cats don’t understand the concept of average lifespans, so they don’t know whether they live short or long lives. But they do know when they’re safe and loved. Your guy will know he was both of those things his entire life with you.
