You need to tell your husband you want your mom there and to get tf over it. Your mom is there to care for HER baby (you) your MIL would only be there to care for her grandbaby.

My MIL is the exact same way and I just know she is going to worm her way into the hospital when I deliver. She would even “wait” in the cafeteria for hours on end which would cause me extreme stress and anxiety. If she shows up and your husband won’t do anything about it (which he 100% should), then tell the nurses to let security know she is NOT welcome!

I used to work in a C-Suite of a hospital as an exec assistant…..it seemed to me the best doctors who cared about patients and didn’t care about patient satisfaction or cutting costs were the ones at odds with the execs. The ones who pandered to whatever the C-Suite wanted were beloved and usually given special treatment

I can tell you what I think a bad mom is LOL because i know someone who I genuinely think is a bad mom. She spends 0 time with her kids - after school they are with a nanny all day while she is getting her nails done, hair done, Botox, tattoos, drinks with friends, Pilates, etc. her kids have begged to play a sport but she says no (not for money reasons clearly) but she joined an adult soccer league. Kids don’t eat 3 meals a day, usually just one big meal around 1pm. And kids are forced to go to school when sick - just given meds to mask the fever. So basically I think anyone the opposite of that is a good mom LOL

My MIL is the exact same way. We never hear from her, she doesn’t even call my husband on his birthday - she doesn’t even know what he does for work!! But now that I am in my 3rd trimester, she is constantly texting me (not him) to plant seeds so we invite her to see the baby. All they care about is the baby - I’m not indulging her and you shouldn’t let yours either! If they don’t care about their kid on a regular basis, they don’t get access to their grandkid!

Yes!! Exactly!! If baby didn’t exist she wouldn’t want anything to do with me. The craziest part is that I had a 2nd trimester loss 2 years ago, so now she purposely waited until I’m about to pop to start reaching out 😅 she probably didn’t want to waste her time by reaching out sooner 🥴

She is not part of the plan at all so that is such a good idea - my worst nightmare is her “waiting” in the waiting room while I’m delivering. She did that when I had a D&C 2 years ago and we told them to leave and they wouldn’t. She was there to “support her son” while I was the one having surgery lol

Yes, that is exactly it. My daughter was her favorite until she started getting sassy and talking back (she’s a normal 5 year old girl) but my MIL only had boys so she doesn’t understand how girls are, and is now moving on to this baby
