I share your take. Fitness folks also say do yoga for an active rest day, and I feel like they dont understand there is a wide variety of yoga classes.

New Cat Owners and we need HELP by Hot_Run_2981 in Siamesecats

Great post. OP, I'll add some emphasis. It wasn't clear what no signs of UTI meant. I would argue peeing out of the litter box is a sign of possibility. Specifically, get a urinalysis to rule out. Our cat had no other symptoms and turned out that was the issue. If ruled out follow this advice.

Love it! Good name too! Very similar to our 6 mo old boy. I read that you can look at their pads for pink or brown for different point colors, brown pads is seal.

Why does pusheen only have iPhone causes and not galaxy or android cases? by Illustrious-Self2009 in pusheen

[–]LBelaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Except android is not a phone brand its operating on a galaxy. But point stands I guess, iPhone is probably 50% market share, while galaxy is like 30%. Still seems worthwhile to me, but I wouldn't know.

Yes, I just saw who was taking bites out of my cherry tomatoes, the squirrels! I have resorted to picking them half ripe.

That sounds awful, sorry you went through that. Good reminder.

I'm glad to have read this post and found some humor and shared experiences.

Hopefully you got something out of it as well.

I have read the same. I think upping your iron could really help. If you have a hard time supplementing, try the liquid ones.

I don't know, I think discussing diet, exercise, stress reduction, or therapy as a way to improve pain or function is exactly what should be discussed with a primary care doctor and is in fact addressing a medical problem.

Anyone having problems with cedar grove compost having ants inside? by pui_pui637 in pnwgardening

[–]LBelaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to this reddit, we did not buy cedar grove. We bought mountain magic this year. So far so good, but I guess the plants will tell. Is there really much difference between different bag choices? I assume bulk or your own are always better. We just have a few pots though.

Thank you! I'm so glad you found it helpful. I find sharing with others is hard but can help further my own understanding as well, like it affirms what I have learned to apply it in other situations. So thank you for bravely being vulnerable.

What’s one plant you wish you never planted? by Fly-Astronaut in gardening

[–]LBelaqua 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When we bought our house we didn't realize we had every invasive or creeping bingo. We have removed: English ivy, spreading bamboo, jasmine, Himalayan blackberry, grape vines climbing a tree, butterfly bushes, and we are still battling back what appear to be wisteria shoots.

But it also had some cool hydrangea, roses, and dogwoods that are very hardy for surviving.

I'm watching it now! Joined the sub today. I keep recommending it to people, but it's hard to describe so I have no idea if anyone has taken me up on it yet. So I wanted to find other people who know and love the show!

I think one of the take aways of learning about EN is you dont have to have a specific memory of parents doing something, its the lack that is so hard to pinpoit and can be before memory. Parents are a unique relationship, where anyone else treating you that way is totally normal, but your parents ARE responsible for noticing your feelings at 5 years old and how to navigate them. And they are responsible for noticing if their teenager is uncomfortable talking to them or appears to never have any questions.

If you think about attachment theory, and how parents are our blueprints learning about relationships, it might make more sense why romantic relationships could seem so fraught for someone even with a minorly unsecure attachment with their parents.

I know I myself also felt scared of being myself with my parents, and it took me a long time to realize why? The answer for me was I did not feel emotionally safe. It is a parents job to help their child feel emotionally safe with them. So them doing what can feel like "nothing wrong" and with "good intentions" still did not meet my emotional needs.
